“Pleasant Paddle, Nice Staff, Nice Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This is a very convenient State Park to West palm Beach/Palm Beach Gardens that has Kayak rentals for 1-2 people with lots of birds and fish and a nature walk and and educational museum. There is also a private beach. It is really inexpensive and convenient.

“Nature on display”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We were looking for something to do and came across this state park by the beach. For $5 per car, we got to roam nature trails and take a walk across the bay (.3 mile) on a wooden walkway with numerous wildlife signs that explained what birds and fish you might be able to see. We saw plenty! The mullets were jumping out of the water and there were numerous waterfall in the skies and surrounding island trees. We even came upon a racoon walking on the path in our direction. I was a bit wary of this nocturnal animal out for a stroll in the middle of the day, and gave it plenty of room to go by. The beach was wide with particulary rough waves. Sometime we hope to return to try out the kayaks for rent and get a closer look at the wildlife.

“Beautiful Nature Preserve and Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

On a barrier island, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is the only state park in Palm Beach County. It is a reserve of subtropical coastal habitat. There is a .3 mile boardwalk out to the island and the almost two miles of pristine beach.
Other amenities include a nature center, gift shop, children’s playground, nature trails, kayak rentals, and picnicking facilities. It was simply beautiful.
