My wife and I wanted an overnight stay before going on a short cruise from Miami. I searched the web and could not find a hotel in the area at a reasonable price with good reviews, so I searched further afield and found this one. The reviews for this hotel were not great but the price was right, I'm aged 60 and have reasonable standards and my wife and I both considered that the hotel was good value for money; agreed it is getting very tired and therefore shows it's age but our room and beds were clean. We would both return and consider accommodation ON THE BEACH for less than $80 per night as very good value. The staff were pleasant and courteous at all times.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights before we went on a cruise. I had read the reviews and was a bit unsure but we are on a 1 year backpacking type trip so we can't be too picky and the price was great approx $60 per night per room.

We were very happy with our stay, the location was great for beach lovers, directly on the beach with fantastic views. Our room had 2 double beds, a clean bathroom and TV with cable.

You can ride the bus to South Beach or Adventura Mall (shopping, food, cinema etc) for $1.50 pp - what more can you ask for?

Admittedly, the hotel is basic and a bit old fashioned but the main thing was the bathroom was clean and so were the sheets! and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Would have been better to be slightly closer to South Beach because the bus ride was about 35-45 Mins but for $1.50 I can't really complain - especially as hotels in South Beach would be way more expensive!

As long as you're not too fussy this hotel will be fine. If you are fussy then stay closer to South Beach but you'll be looking at at least $100 per night more.

Would go back - hotel was fine.

I stayed at this hotel, THANK GOD, for only one night. I was staying there with my mother and we were driving back home to Boston. When we first walked in there, two men where screaming at each other. These two men worked for the hotel. We had to listen to their whole agruement, because our room was not ready, even though we arrived at the Hotel at 4pm. We waited about an hour in the lobby to get our room. The lady at the front desk gave us wrong directions on how to get to our room. The pool was completely nasty. There were leaves and dirt at the bottom. When we got into the room, the air conditioner, I thought, was going to blow up. It was making a load noise that went throughout the night. The bathroom was DISGUSTING!!! I went across the street to denny's to use the bathroom. The sheets were not even clean sheets. The beach area behind the hotel was very enjoyable. But honestly, the only nice part about this hotel... WAS LEAVING IT!!!!

First of all, the place was not as the pictures from the web page showed. The restaurant and bar were both closed. Our room was definately a dump....while being considered an upgrade! The bathroom was filthy, especially the shower/tub and the tub drain. I think the hair from the first ever guest was still in the drain! We asked 3 times for the bathroom to be cleaned, and after, was still dirty . We bought cleaner ourselves to spray. The floor was not cleaned : sand, wood chips, plaster bits. Bedside table dirty and sticky. My friend found blood stains on her bedspread. The air conditioning was rattling all the time. When we asked to have it turned down (no control on the room), the maintenance guy came up with a ladder and a stick, which he poked inside the vent to close the inside vent. The staff were uncaring about our voiced concerns, for the most part. There was one guy who tried to help, but he was not able to do much.
The pool was so murky, you could not see bottom. The only pleasant spot was the beach. Max, our beach attendant was nice.
