“Not much else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Nothing else around if you want it all in a small place. Rides & nature walk (for a fee), several bars to chose from, including a dog-friendly one Th - Sun. Nice employees

“Not just a tourist trap, much much more for everyone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

I thought it was just another Florida tourist trap, but it an entertainment complex. There are restaurants, games, things for the whole family to do and other fun activities. Yes, they sell stuff but even that is entertaining in its own way. I don't know if you can get out the door with spending anything but it is an enjoyable stop.

“Shell factory still delivers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

If you are young at heart, or have young ones, this is the place with something for everyone. My husband loved the stuffed animals from all over the world. They were a bit dated but impressive none, the less.

Children have their own area inside the store with special food, games, and attractions. Lots of tourist items to purchase besides shells.

Outside, the nature park is another attraction. My favorite though, was the restaurant. Inside the walls were covered with fish mounts. The food was delicious and plentiful. I had the rueben and couldn't finish.

Another plus is the big flea market on Tues, Thurs, and maybe another day. Great fun and good shopping.

“ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

My family and I decided to visit Shell Factory one warm January afternoon, despite the not-so-good reviews on Trip Advisor, and I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised! Of course it does not even compare to your larger well-known attractions here in Florida and it is not a place I would plan a vacation around but if you happen to be in the area with a beautiful day and looking for something different to do, this is an absolutely delightful place to visit! My daughter is 5 years old and LOVES animals. We only went to the Nature Park the first time (great coupons at their website www.shellfactory.com) and we spent well over 4 hours without boredom. There are lots of opportunites to feed different types of animals from your typical Koi fish and goats to alligators and peacocks! It was very peaceful, clean and well laid out. We also ate at the restaurant on site called Fish Bones and that was very nice too. Great service, friendly staff and a good variety of food, including fresh local seafood. We actually live here now and the entire week following our visit, my daughter continously asked to go back. Well, we did, the following Sunday and this time, we did not go to the Nature Park (the weather wasn't quite as beautiful), we did tour the many different shops and animal displays they have inside and spent quite a bit of time (and some money) in the entertaining game room. Our experience was also peaceful, not too many people and laid out nicely. We will most definitely return, of course, and are delighted to do so. So, if you happen to be in the area whether dwelling or visiting, make sure you check this place out. Works best for couples who may be looking for something different to do but especially fun for those with younger children, probably aged 3 to 12-ish. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to bring a picnic lunch either; it's not contraindicated to the best of my knowledge and there are plenty of areas to rest and enjoy such a treat. Have fun!
