4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We were here for a long weekend, Wed thru Sun, at the end of February/beginning of March. We stayed on the 4th floor of the West Building while our friends stayed on the 2nd floor. Our view was over the restaurant that is part of the hotel which is between the hotel and the river. Unfortunately for our friends, their view was of the AC units and fans on top of the restaurant.
Also, our room was just enough bigger to make a difference. The trick is to get either a room ending in 1 or in 9. We were in 421. The very best would be to be in the top floor of the East building, on the ends. I believe those would be rooms 511 or 519. Those rooms should be biggest and farthest away from the sight and smell of the kitchen fans on the restaurant...
Other than that, we found it to be clean and well taken care of.
I'll try to post pictures of the view, which is south over the river looking toward Fort Myers. Really a pretty nice view...

Room Tip: high and to the east...much better view, less noise.

Hotel is sandwiched between a group of restaurants. Rooms are noisy because of it's proximity to route 41. Traffic noise all the time. Ask for a room above the third floor. First floor rooms in the east tower have a view of the restaurant. Upper east tower rooms have both a river view and the view of the restaurant's roof. Afternoon in the east tower you also have the benefit of all the grease smells emitting from the restaurants vents. Ask for a west tower room. Should have a privacy fence by the restaurant side of the poo. Would cut down on restaurant noise ang give guests some privacy. Cleaning staff does a mediocre job. One day they would vacuum other days not. Did not refill toilet tissue or put new soap in the bathroom. Coffee filters left in the coffeemaker. Tv screen so dusty it looked like a haze.

I'm not a big picky vacationer. But what I expected for the $$, I expected better.

CONS: The room was filthy enough for me to keep my shoes on for the first few nights (we stayed 5 total). I was even nervous to have our 18 month old drop his sippy on the floor or open the closet door to find roaches.

The room needed to be updated with caulking and finer details such as ceiling repair and baseboard replacement. (I am a chick- but no dummy!)

Our room was on the second floor, overlooking... the on site restaurants roof top. Hubby went to complain and was told this was an 'economy' suite based off the vaca package we bought- they gave us 2 IHOP vouchers to use on breakfast which is on a 'special' menu including junk. The value of the cards are 6.50. At that point, seriously, we just bought a full breakfast! Friday and Saturday night was welcomed by loud chatter and music from the restaurant on site- and could be easily heard through the patio doors of our room. Sunday night included a man power-washing God knows what from the hours of 7pm-11pm. Hubby complained and was told that 'quite time' wasn't until 11pm. (We must've missed the memo!?)

Fresh towels took the day to get delivered, while parking was a joke anytime after 5pm (because the Three Fisherman Restaurant shares the same parking lot.)

PROS: The area is surrounded by several choices in food and entertainment. Great place if you seriously just want a roof over your head. Beds were so/so and pillows were very fluffy and comfortable. There is a flat screen t.v., coffee maker and free wi-fi. Clean pool.

BOTTOM LINE: As a couple in our early 30's, with one child, we will never stay here again.

Room Tip: Do not book economy. Other rooms must have better accommodations. Had we known we would've booke...

This hotel is not in the nicest area and it's a little run-down. Our queen room was tiny and minimally adequate in terms of amenities, we were glad we were only staying one night. Our room was on the second floor which meant the balcony opened right over the attached seafood restaurant with its open-air bar and cooking smells...ask for a higher-floor room. The office staff was very pleasant and there is a very nice IHOP right next door. The price was good but there are much better options available in the Fort Myers area.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room
