After reading the other reviews for The Bubble Room, I wasn't expecting much, but decided to go anyways for the experience. I regretted this as soon as I had the first bite of my lunch.
When you get to the restaurant, it is nearly impossible to find a parking spot that is not illegal. The wait was an hour long, so we wandered over to the bar. After waiting for ten minutes, we ordered, but the bartender barely knew how to make anything and was very rude. Finally, we were seated. The decor was interesting, but it was clear that they had probably spent about $100 for the whole restaurant. The server was clueless, but he took our order quick. The service was speedy, but the food was something else.
I got the Calypso Salad, which was a $10 plate of lettuce and cheap fruit. Not good. My husband ordered the Louis Armstrong, and could only eat half, which he just ate to 'get his money's worth.' My two children got the kid's grilled cheese, which you would assume they couldn't ruin. Well, they did.It was cheap cheese in cheap bread heated up in the microwave and drenched in spray butter. Yummy. They Carolina Moons that came on the side were cold, chewy potato chips that clearly came out of a bag. To finish our meal off, we ordered a slice of red velvet cake. The waiter told us that they were out. Apparently, they were also out of two other of their most popular cakes, the white chocolate and orange. This was because they had 'forgotten to make them last night.' More like the delivery boy forgot to deliver them. When we asked the waiter if they would be getting any soon, he told us he 'didn't know'. We told him to forget about it and asked for the check.
Listen to me. There is no chance of you having an enjoyable meal. Don't go here for the experience. This place is NOT GOOD and there is no chance of it being good! If you go, prepare to pay double the money for crappy food. Be smart, and go somewhere else!
