Jensen's Twin Palms Marina and Cottages is one of the best spots in Florida, in my opinion. If you want fancy, room service, pool, etc., this is not the place. If you want a piece of old Florida, where you kick your shoes off on the screened-porch as you walk in and never put them back on, this is the place for you. The Jensen brothers are the best in the world and you'll be surprised to hear an impromptu concert occasionally on the back porch at the marina. I have stayed there numerous times and absolutely love the cottages -- they are clean, comfortable and very well cared for. The beach is a short block's walk away, as is the Mucky Duck. The manatees are normally on "display" right in the marina and the waterways in and around Jensen's are some of the most beautiful in the world. Again, this is not the place to go if you want pampering -- this is the place to go to relax and enjoy yourself. For more attention, go to the Jensen's other place, Jensen's on the Gulf -- you can get all of the pampering you want there -- beach-side. I love the Marina, though and all of the people around there.

We just returned from a brief, idyllic stay at Jensen's. It's a miracle this simple, Old Florida resort has survived in such an amazing location. If you want room service and a pool, this is not the
place for you, but if you just want to wear your shorts and flip-flops, relax, and do a little fishing and reading, this is your place.
Let's hope Jensen's never changes.

Just returned today from a 5 night stay at Jensen's on the Gulf on Captiva Island. We stayed in the penthouse suite right on the beach - it was wonderful! The views were just perfect and the staff was so nice and helpful. We really loved their no smoking policy which includes the porches too. There have been so many times when we've had to leave our balcony at other places because someone on the balcony next to ours was smoking.
Our suite was very clean and nicely decorated. I would say the only drawback is that the walls are pretty thin and that the garbage trucks empty the dumpster on Tuesday and Thursdays at 3 a.m.!!!!
But other than that everything was perfect and I'm sure we'll be back! I doubt that you could find a better view of the gulf on the whole island!

  • Liked — The view and the staff

My husband and I wandered upon Twin Palms, after leaving behind the stuffiness, and ridiculous prices of staying at the Ritz Carlton in Naples for 3 nights. It was EXACTLY what we needed. The owners (brothers) gave us a warm welcome, a great little cottage, immaculately clean, (the Ritz was boot-worn, even after a so-called rehab), and incredible good value. We are trying to get back again this November, but our plans may not allow us to. One thing we know for certain... it's not a matter of if we return...only of when. Please don't let the "starter mansions and castles" building up all around you, change the overall flavor of Twin Palms. I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, left in '84 and headed west. We live in WA. state, and I still have family in Ft.Laud, but have told them if they want to see us they either have to come to Washington, or meet us at Twin Palms. Your little resort is vanishing America...keep up the good work.
