“Good basic hotel”

The hotel is a good basic hotel, small but adequate room, simple continental breakfast, however enough. Personnel is friendly. To get around Miami and Miami Beach you need to have a car. Sights from the hotel over the surrounding waters are beautiful.

We had a up graded room,2 queen beds,very good size bedroom,but the bathroom was very small, but clean, with good towels
Breakfast ok ,swimimg pool nice and the landscape was beautifull,with the marina and the boats around.
Good for the value.nice front desk staff.

Good location, OK price, but not clean.
We were unpleasantly surprised with the first contact at the front desk. Attendant was very rude to the family that was in front of us. We did not have the same problem.
The room was a little older than we would expected, but I think it was well adjusted for the price.
Breakfast was going ok, until we saw a cockroach on our last day. Definitely not going there again.

Too old, too expensive for the hotel quality.Poor breakfast.Too noisy.You have the room just in front of the avenue : The quality of the isolation of the room is too poor. The peoples of the hotel was very kind, and gentle. You can have better but not here.

Great location with a fantastic view, just outside Miami Beach.
FREE parking, outside pool, free WiFi.
24/7 coffee & water. Typical American breakfast.
Staff was friendly.

During a recent stay at this establishment I called the front desk and asked for an extra hour to check which I was granted ...only to find out the Hotel charged my credit card for an additional half day. When called the hotel and enquired about the additional charges the manager insinuated that I was a liar and I didnt leave the room for at least two hrs amongst other things.
I travel for living and have never experienced an issue with a late check once you inform the front desk.
I was a patron at Shuckers for some 12 yrs and expected the staff at the Hotel to as accomadating ...NOT THE CASE !!!

Dear Mr. Kevin Glenn,

We, at the Best Western Inn on the Bay, aim to provide excellent customer service and strive to meet our guest's needs. However, in your particular situation, I personally handled your checkout on Sunday, December 15th. Our establishment has a 11AM
checkout and as a courtesy we provide a complimentary late checkout of 12PM to any guest
who either requests it or is still occupying the room past 11AM. Between
12:10PM and 12:40PM, I called your room 6 times and our housekeeping
supervisor knocked on your door 3 times. We were unable to enter the room
since it was locked from the inside. After our attempts to contact you, I
extended your reservation for another day and left you a voicemail in your
room informing you of your new checkout date and time. Later that day,
when housekeeping attempted to provide their daily service, the room door
was found unlocked and the room empty. As a courtesy, I reversed the additional
full day charge and changed it to a half a day charge. Had my staff or
myself been kept informed of any special circumstances requiring a
checkout past 12PM, we would have tried to accommodate the best we could have.

As we booked the hotel via Hotwire, we paid quite a cheap rate for 4 nights incl. breakfast and parking.
The hotel is located at the JFK Causeway. It's only a few minutes drive to the beach (by car). You're also a few minutes away from Biscayne Blvd (US1) which leads either to Downtown Miami or Aventura Mall. Considering the Greater Miami area (and not only South Beach), the hotel is very centrally located.

Our King-size room was quite spacious with a big balcony. We had enough space for luggage and clothes. However, the bathroom was a little small. Overall, the rooms are clean.
The bed was absolute comfy and we slept very well.

The hotel seemed quite popular and busy, especially during breakfast times. The breakfast was fine, pretty American though (waffles, scrambled eggs, sausages, cornflakes, doughnuts).

We haven't really made use of the pool area or the restaurant, however they look quite decent. We recommend the hotel for couples, friends and families.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with Bay View.
