“Two night stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Hotel price very excellent for the area on north beach . Hotel older style
however very clean rooms. Bath room very small but clean . Area a little hard moving around and you have to really know where to go as eatery's are in hard to spot places. Staff not really friendly but they do respond to your questions . Did not thy the Breakfast there so can not say good or bad .
I would stay there on my next trip so the very good rating stays also beds are very good .

Room Tip: ask for a ground floor or you may get put in the other side of the hotel on the 5th flood.

After staying in a superb 3 star hotel in Ft Myers this was a bit disappointing. Restaurant on the same premisses was closed due to the terrasse had fallen into the bay and the building was insecure. Not much to do in the area within walking distance. 24/7 security in the parkinglot. In a way good, but got me wondering a bit why. Room was ok, but soundproofing was bad and it was possible to hear our overly chatty hispanic neighbors conversation clearly untill 2am.
Pool was nice, the free breakfast was average and internet was working ok.
Staff was friendly except the elderly securityguy in the parkinglot that welcomed us when we arrived and the next morning asked us if we were guests and were we stayed. Not a big deal, but anyway.

When I booked and it said on the bay I thought that meant beachfront. Turns out the beach was 2 miles away. Still for the price it is not that far from the beach. The bay view is really nice and the restaurant on the bay is cool. Our room was quite large with two beds and an extra sitting area. If you don't feel like going to the beach they do have an outdoor pool which was very busy and clean. The free breakfast was very good and 24 hour coffee and tea. We were here for five days and found that we were close to all the things we wanted to do. Close to the beach, close to downtown, the only thing that was not close was the Key West. I would stay here again, the price was right and everything was good.

We arrived here late at night and could not believe what we saw! Caution tape everywhere and very poorly lit parking lot. Our room was in the auxiliary building and we could not even find the entrance in the dark. Once we got in the room, we knew we would not be staying for the five days that we booked. Dirty shower and we looked down on the torn up dock in front of Shuckers restaurant, which was obviously closed. Yes, the restaurant that is so boldly advertised on the hotel's website is actually closed. The beautiful marina that you see on the internet is not as advertised as it is also closed off with caution tape!
As others have commented, this hotel does have free parking but as we found out, you definitely get what you pay for! The front desk staff was not surprised at all and did not try to get us to stay when we checked out immediately the next morning. I assume that must be happening a lot now.
Pay the extra money and go to the beach!!

We are currently staying here at the best western. Going to be here 8 days of a totalt. The price is cheap, the rooms are great! Staff is friendly and serviceminded! Breakfast is delicious and location is good. You will need a car and a gps system! (We got a convertible at an avsome price @budget @miamiairport) Parking at the hotel is free and miami is easy to drive in. Nice pool here to, although this could be cleaner... supergood pizza/pasta resturant strait across the street aswell. (To be recomended). All in all, superhappy with the accomodations here at the bay inn & marina :D

I originally wanted a hotel on the beach in Miami, however what I received at Best Western on the Bay was incredible, far beyond what I expected. It started with the staff, the reception was welcoming. The dining room staff was extremely accommodating , warm and friendly. The rooms were immaculate. Be sure to take a room facing the Bay, the view is breathtaking. Truly a gem on the Bay....

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the Bay, trust me it s all worth the little extra.

We selected this property because the parking is free unlike the other hotels in Miami. The reception staff were extremely helpful and polite and the room maid did an excellent job of tidying the room. Towels were changed daily. Breakfast was ok with waffles, cereals and a small selection of sausages/egg and of course cake. I'm always suprised how people eat cake for breakfast. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and they are available free all day near the reception. The Bus ride into Miami is only $2 but it is a considerable distance the way the bus goes, but at least you avoid trying to find a parking space and the cost of parking is extremely expensive in Miami South beach.
The only dissappointment is that the Shukers bar and Restaurant has been closed because the pier had collapsed, but there is Benihannas, a Crab restuarant (it doesn't only serve Crabs) and a Italian type restaurant near the supermarket. All within easy walking distance of the hotel. One day we went to the supermarket and there was a variety of cook (hot) food for take away, it can be warmed up later because a microwave and a decent size fridge are in the room.

The bed is big and comfortable with aircon, although a little noisy together with a decent size flat screen tv.

The pool was a reasonable size with a depth at the deep end of 9 foot (almost 3 metres) it was also very warm and sun beds were available although shade is hard to come by.

Overall I would recommend this hotel we would book again

Room Tip: We upgraded for $10 per night per room and stayed in the main part of the Hotel. Well worth it
