“Just what we were looking for!”

Having lived in the area 79-89, this was our first return in 23 years. Avid lovers of the Florida Coast, we prefer small, less populated locales over high rises and crowded beaches. My research indicated that The BC might be a good choice. We chose the North Villa, preferring the usually quieter aspects of a bay or sound location over beachside.
Every single aspect of our stay was effortless, from reservation to our leave. Tekla and Robert could not have been more accommodating. And, this leads to one of the best things about the BC, personal attention. We always choose to patronize smaller properties with this level of attention. What a comfort, especially when traveling, to know that should you need help or information, it's just a phone call away. BC staff was such a presence on the property it felt like staying with a good friend that kept an eye out for you. This level of service is what makes the difference between a nice property and an exceptional property.
The unit was impeccably clean, the welcome placard and fresh flowers a wonderful gesture. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped.
We spend the majority of our vacation time out of doors and we so enjoyed our meals on the patio (There is a shared gas grill on the pier) and fishing from the dock outside the unit. We had old friends over for a much anticipated reunion and Tekla and Robert provided extra parking passes and made sure our guests found us and helped carry in the BBQ! It was all enjoyed under the gorgeous Tropical Foliage, accompanied by a refreshing afternoon breeze in the front courtyard of the Villa.
Hat's off and many thanks to Tekla and Robert and the staff of the Beachcomber. We hope to return to our newest home away from home.

Room Tip: I have my doubts that there is a unit on the property that doesn't have it's own special fea...

Dear MagicCityTraveler,

It's wonderful to hear that you found your stay in our Dockside Villa to be so comfortable.
Indeed, it is one of our goals to help guests feel that they are, if not at home, then staying with good friends. We are very happy to know that you & your guests have happy memories of your reunion at The Beachcomber.

My husband and I spent the weekend in No. 7 recently. It was like we never left home, but had been transported to a parallel universe on the ocean. The decor was incredible, and theplace was impeccably clean. There were special touches of design everywhere, like somebody lived there and carefully studied the spaces. This was a first-class treat at a reasonable price.
We brought groceries and cocooned at the place, enjoying the beach view and the sunsets from our wooden porch. There was cable TV, but we didn't watch it. We brought music, but we didn't listen to it. We brought books, and there were dozens throughout the condo -- but we didn't read them. Instead, we focused on ourselves and the moment -- turning two days into two weeks -- time didn't exist. We went back to work on Monday, refreshed and recharged.
The proprietors, Tekla and Robert, added to the positive mindset we already possessed.
We'll be back.

Dear SE C,
It was wonderful to find that your stay with us was such a positive experience. In fact, it made my day brighter to read your description of the stay. Both myself & all the staff here are delighted to know you went home "refreshed & recharged" and we look forward to sharing the beach magic with you again one day.

This was our first time staying at The Beachcomber and it will not be our last! This is our second stay on Casey Key and I am so happy that we were able to stay at this relaxing piece of property. Tekla and Robert could not have been any nicer, from knowing our names upon arrival, to the homemade cookies waiting for us in the fridge, to our little welcoming card inside the room. They truly take pride in their property and in the fact they offer personable service. After we checked in, Robert gave us the tour of the grounds, showing us where everything was located. They have everything you need for your day at the beach there on their property, from the beach chairs, umbrellas, to the beach bag and towels in your room :)

They clean the rooms beyond what I would think after each guest. I know this because they showed us Apt # 2 while it was being cleaned, and I couldn't believe the level of detail that the cleaning lady was addressing. I was very impressed!

We stayed in Apt. #1 and it was prefect for my husband and myself. For being their smaller unit, it had plenty of room for the 2 of us. There was a large rattan shelving unit by the bathroom that was perfect for our bathroom toiletry box, hairdryer, and our extra stuff. There are also two other closets in the room, one with cubbies and one with a smaller shelving unit inside, so storage is not a problem in this apt. The kitchen also had everything that you would need for an extended stay. We did not use the stove or oven but we did use the toaster and microwave. The wall in the room is painted with a pretty beach mural, it is not tacky at all, but actually very peaceful to look at. They have cable and free Wi-Fi. The couch is very comfortable and fits in the room perfectly.

Apt. #1 does not have an outside table and chairs right outside the door like the other units, but that is good news :) Because they have placed a concrete table and chair set right by the wall looking out onto the beach! It was a perfect place to have our morning coffee and breakfast. The grounds are very nicely done in very "Old Florida" fashion, from the shell rock on the walkways to the plants, they really have done an excellent job. At night the grounds are lit with little white lights and it is nice to just sit and listen to the waves while having a glass of wine.

To Robert and Tekla, THANK YOU!!! I hope to see you in August for our anniversary :) And this time I will have extra cash to buy that lovely jewelry you have for sale in the office.

Thank you very much for the lovely & enthusiastic review. We are so very delighted that your experience with us was such a positive one . That you were in our most modest unit & still felt it was a special place is very important to us. We eagerly await your next visit.

This was our second stay at The Beachcomber and it certainly won't be our last as we have a trip planned in July 2014, and we rebooked for next year. I echo all other reviewers comments on the cleaniness of the resort and rooms and on how professional, friendly, and helpful Tekla and Robert are. Casey Key is a wonderful place to vacation, and The Beachcomber is the only place you should consider for your stay.

Thanks, Tekla and Robert for a wonderful week. Terri and Ric

We stayed in #4 Old Florida end of May 2014. The apartment was perfect for a family stay -the second bedroom is not completely private but was fine for our purposes. We felt at home immediately-everything we could ask for was there, exceptionally clean and comfortable. It really felt more like a private cottage, having our own patio to dine-also great to watch the gulf sunsets and stargaze. Just steps to the beautiful beach and gulf swimming. We had been looking for a place we could return to year after year-our favorIte hotel in the Caribbean closed a few years back and we have been adrift since. So glad to have found this place. Thank you Robert and Tekla for such a lovely and relaxing week-it was just perfect in every way.

This cottage exceeded our expectations in many ways. Robert and Tekla were professional, friendly and helpful in every way and helped to make our trip so special. They certainly know how to run a resort. We stayed in the south villa, which was on the waterway and we absolutely loved it. It was immaculate when we arrived and was beautiful. It was secluded, but right across the street from the beach; perfect in every way. I hesitated to write a review because I don't want to share this great find! LOL But Tekla and Robert deserve for everyone to hear what an amazing place this is :)

You could not ask for a better location or service. Tekla & Robert were the best of hosts. Tekla was under the weather but still managed to greet us when we arrived. Can't wait to go back. Sorry we didn't get a chance to set and watch the sunset and enjoy a beer our glass of wine with all the other guests. We will definitely do that next year. This turned out to be one of most enjoy vacations to the west coast of Florida. We love just walking the beach and shelling each morning. The sunsets were pretty great as well. We feel like part of the family now. The only negative and this is a small one is the Wi-Fi system. Hard to get a signal sometimes. It worked best in the kitchen. Could need another router closer to the villa areas? No big deal - didn't miss much.

Room Tip: Rooms are hard to come by. This maybe the most popular place on Nokomis Beach. We stayed in the vill...

Thank you for your lovely review.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay & look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Our recently added antenna has obviously not given our WiFi signal a big enough boost, so we are now looking at "Plan B" which will include a dedicated line to the villas along with another router.
Thanks for your patience with this inconvenience.
