This is a 3/4 mile walk which is entirely situated on a boardwalk. Very nice and peaceful walk on the day we went, but can see that in the heat of summer this would be a great place to cool off. All along the boardwalk at various intervals are swimming platforms with ladders to get down into the ice-cold water! I think they said the temp was 68 degrees year round! The bottom of the little river that runs along the boardwalk in pure white sand and the river is very shallow. We saw lots of turtles and birds and a few fish along the walk. The walk begins next to a busy highway, but you soon walk into the woods and leave the sound of traffice behind. Nice way to spend an hour or so (or longer in the summer).
