I took my wife and niece to the resturant thinking I would have a great experience. The facility and location are great. The meal, however, was not. The entree, a salmon dinner was not good, nor was the duck dinner that my niece had. I would not come back.

This was without a doubt the worst restaurant we have ever eaten at in New Smryna. The potatoes were boxed (they didn't even try to hide that fact), the stuffing was Stove Top and everything was served with a side of grease. Thank God they have a full bar and a great view! It's overpriced and the food is gross.

We were thrilled to find the service and the food at Riverview met our expectations. We had passed it by road several times in our wanderings around our great State, and promised ourselves we would eat there. This weekend (4/26/2008) we got the Water Taxi from the North Causeway at New Smyrna and stepped-off right into the bar! Service was very good and extremely friendly, the food (we ate off the appetizers menu, sharing several dishes) was of high quality and well prepared – and even HOT when served. We will be returning – especially for a dinner one evening – as the views and the ambience are very attractive.

I was also aware that two senior regulars were smoking behind us on the deck – I only quit myself in December so may be a little sensitive at the moment! I would not be surprised if this couple was not one and the same complained of in the first review. However the smoking area is the DECK, the BAR and OUTSIDE!
‘Learned behavior’ from a young child should not have been allowed to spoil the meal for the diners – particularly those spending $140- but the Manager should have addressed this problem before it escalated into a damaging review.

Passing through New Smyrna Beach recently I visited The Grille At Riverview, experienced a fantastic meal with service that was superior.
Being the only restaurant on the river in this small town, it was an atmosphere that was like no other, management were very professional, but with that been said I had nothing to complain about.
Smoking is obviously an outdoors event throughout the majority of the United States, therefore I sat inside....

Everyone should visit The Grille At Riverview!! Exceptional
