“Crabs everywhere!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

I went there on May 3rd so maybe this is a seasonal thing, but the beach was covered with little tiny sand crabs. My mom, who lives in New Port Richey, said it was no big deal. However my daughter and I could not walk across that sand. No way, no how, not happening! We went south to another beach in Tarpon Springs instead.

If you have a handicapped parking decal you will not have to pay the parking fee.

“Finally... NEW playground equipment!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Love this beach. We live right around the corner from it, and I bring my Granddaughter there on the weekends, and I like to go there and relax during the weekdays. It is very relaxing, and has beautiful sunsets. If you want to get a good parking spot, get there early (before 12:00 noon) otherwise, you'll have to park your car a little further away. They just recently replaced the playground equipment with nice swings, etc.. It took a while, and the playground part of the beach was run down before, an eyesore to look at, but now it is really nice! There is a $2.00 parking fee. There is a boardwalk to walk on, and if you get lucky, you just might see a family of dolphins swimming near by!

“Bring your bike!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

A lovely park to picnic and ride your bike. Didn't have a bike at the time so we walked the trails. A very nice park to visit for a day in Florida.

“A great little beach park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

This park would be a little tricky to reach if travelling north on the US19. It is just passed Main Street on the left. You need to turn into Green Key Road. The park is right at the end of the road. There are spaces for about 20 cars around the turning circle, although you can also park in the unsupervised lot further up the road. The day fee for parking is a very reasonable $2. There is a small beach with an area cordoned off for swimming. There are picnic benches and barbecue stands as well. There are some children's playground toys, although these are currently being replaced. We found this to be a very tranquil spot, and no doubt the sunsets there would be spectacular. The only aspect which detracted from our visit was the graffiti scratched into the board walk. The board walk is provided to view the ecologically sensitive mangrove swamps. There are lots of names carved into the wood. At the end of the board walk there is an observation platform. Whilst we were there, there were some explicit and unpleasant daubings. This type of vandalism has been rarely seen in our travels and it seems a great shame that such a beautiful facility should be marred in this way.

“SUNSET!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

This park is near my house, and I LOVE to go there and watch the sunset... Most nights folks applaud when the sun is finally down.
There is a nice playground (with unique items you don't see in most parks).
There is also a very nice boardwalk trail that I don't think most people know about... it is always very quiet along the trail/boardwalk.
