When Mario's of Neptune Beach stopped serving lunch, the question became where to go for seafood. Since Sliders recently opened for lunch, lets try them.
Well, I think we are "hooked". My wife can not order anything but the shrimp and cheese grits. It is easy to taste, 'why'. A big bowl of very cheesy grits topped with an ample supply of big fresh Mayports done in a tomato wine sauce. All for about $11.
I have enjoyed the blackened snapper sandwich. It comes with a great tropical slaw. If calorie conscious, the house salad with a fish filet (Mahi, I think) is my recommendation. I like the balsamic dressing as it has no discernible oil and a unique flavor that you can't quite put your "finger" on. At about $8, the value is great.
Skip the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer as they are too salty, too few and too small for the money. Instead, opt for the artichoke seafood dip. It, however, is not for the calorie conscious.
