Before planing our trip, I read all the reviews on Trip Advisor. Most of which are very positive. Because of this, I decided to go with Summerwind. However, you never really know about a place until you actually get there. We stayed in a one bedroom unit.
Summerwind is decent. Certainly nothing to write home about, The location on the beach is great. The view of the Gulf is great. The unit itself leaves a lot to be desired. I'm sure each unit/condo is different, but ours was very average. There were walls that were dinged up, a light bulb in the living room that was burnt out, hair on the floor in the bathroom (gross), there was a hair in the microwave (nasty), the patio and the furniture on the patio was dirty. The place honestly to me, didn't look like it had been cleaned. Another thing, our unit's bedroom was located right next to the elevator, so we heard that at night every time it was used. The TV in the master bedroom didn't work right, It made a hissing noise.
All-in-all, if you're looking for just a "room", to throw your things in, this place is fine. Don't expect to be walking into a resort, because it's not that. With all this being said., I would actually stay here again. The location and view is great, plus the price was awesome! We paid in the $650 range for 6 nights. Seemed like a good deal to me. I'm chalking it up to, we got a bad unit. But yea, I would give this place another chance. Again, the price was right.
Navarre itelf is fine. The beach is great. If you're looking for more bars/restaurants, then stay about 15 miles away in Fort Walton. We drove there several times just to check-it-out. Very nice, with more of a selection of things to do, places to eat, etc. And the Fort Walton beaches are just as nice.
