“Comfortable and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

We stayed here for a week while waiting to move into our home and were pleased. Room was bright and very clean, bed was comfortable. We had a small patio for enjoying the outdoors. Unfortunately we had no time to use the pool, but it looked nice. The 'help yourself' breakfast area included waffles, hard-boiled eggs, cereals, yogurts, pastries and toast, along coffee and assorted juices. Its important to note that the hotel has no restaurant, but there are dining options very close by. Small resort, but we found it comfortable for our stay.

I enjoyed my stay at the Inn at Pelican Bay, and this place far exceeded my expectations. Clean, spacious rooms, and quiet, despite a wedding party staying for the weekend. The rooms are well thought out and I enjoyed the layout of the bathroom and lovely lakeside view. I also have to mention the sheets! They were super soft and felt very comfortable. Even high end hotels can suffer from stiff sheet syndrome, and these were so comfortable, it reminded me of home. On the higher floors, the view of the city-side is also nice. Although not overly friendly, the staff were polite and accommodating. Location is nice, depending on what you're planning on doing during your stay. Since we had rented a car and planned on exploring the beaches a drive away, we didn't mind so much that the closest beach was a mile down the road. We really enjoyed having the Publix and CVS close enough to walk to from the Inn. If you're planning on staying at the Inn and going to the beach nearby, it might be kind of a pain to have to wait for the shuttle (only scheduled at certain intervals during the day) or having to drag all of your beach gear for a 20 minute walk down the road.

Something that left a bad taste in my mouth was upon check-in, when we were told of a $12/night "resort fee." I was surprised because I thought we were supposed to be staying at a boutique Inn, not a sprawling resort with extra amenities. When I inquired about the surcharge, I was told at check-in that the fee covers "the waffle bar at breakfast, use of the computer and printers, and complimentary shuttle to the beach." We certainly had our fill of waffles the next several days after hearing that. The breakfast was nice, although I was disappointed that they served jarred fruit and grapefruit cocktail juice. It being Florida and all, I figured they would have fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh cut fruit. It's the little things that count. Another thing I noticed that was rather tacky was on the last day, the staff placed a large sign in the lobby that said something along the lines of "stay another hour, only $40. stay another three hours, only $80." Yikes. Talk about an upsell. It's like the hotel manager just finished a business course and decided to apply some of their freshly learned sales tactics. Whatever the case, lose the sign, it's off-putting. Another minor annoyance was the terribly slow elevator, which easily gets filled due to being shared by housekeeping.

So, like the title of my review says.. I enjoyed our stay, it was a great home base for our long weekend of explorations. We liked the area and the local beaches and found the Inn very enjoyable overall. However, there were enough annoying little issues that made me mark this review down a notch. A few tips for other Naples newbies: there's a Trek store down the street about a block that rents bikes/helmets and will point you down to where the bike-able beaches are. There's a lot of really nice beaches all over, but most are cash-entrance fee type places. The state parks charge a fee for bicycles as well. There's a publix, trader joe's and whole foods very close to the Inn in case you're looking a place to quickly grab some pre-made food to take with you to the beach.

Clean, comforting, and centrally located. Pool is beautiful with hot tub nearby. Hotel staff was very attentive. Brought flower delivery up to our room. Breakfast was amazing. Everything you could ask for. No complaints.

We've had some family visit recently and we booked some rooms for them here since it is so close to our home. It's a wonderfully kept hotel (recently renovated). They raved about the service and accommodations. They got back to the hotel a bit late one evening and the bar was closed - - however, the hotel did have some wine chilled in the lobby and you could pay by the honor system. A very nice touch for sure. Lovely pool/spa area. A great breakfast is also provided. This hotel was a bit hit with the family.

My husband and I just returned from a week in Naples where we stayed at the Inn at Pelican Bay. It was an absolutely wonderful week from the moment we arrived. The rooms are beautiful, extremely comfortable beds and exceptionally clean. An incredible breakfast bar with an amazing Chef who cooks your omelet to your preference is the best. The pool is relaxing and always clean and kept at the perfect temperature. They do so many little things right! Beach towels are always available, transportation to the beach but it is such a short and fun walk that we did that daily. The staff looks for opportunities to smile and ask if you need anything. An honors bar is available and yummy cookies every afternoon. I can't say enough good things about the Inn at Pelican Bay. Both my husband and I agree (we travel a lot) that it is the best place we have ever stayed at and look forward to staying there again.
Extremely pleased! Bill and Cathy from St. Louis, MO
