“Great Place for a Beach Wedding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

We visited the resort for 6 days/5 nights for our niece's wedding. The location and surroundings were fantastic. We made the reservations through a Southwest Airlines package and beat the discount rate arranged by our niece. We had a Gulf view room. Everything you need is on site - restaurants, two pools (adult and adult/kids), a beatiful beach, beachfront restaurant and bar and golf course. The main lounge/lobby was beautiful and there is a nice coffee shop where you can avoid the $24.00 breakfast buffet.

The food and drinks were a little pricey, but you are paying for the location and views while you eat and drink. Charging $10.00/day for wifi is a ripoff. A place of this caliber should provide this at no cost - we spent plenty while we were there.

In June/July, golf is a bargain at $42.00 per person with cart. The golf pro shop and cart guys were great. The course is OK with the greens needing work, but we were there off-season.

The resort is sort of old scholl Florida, built in 1946, but has been well maintained and rennovated to stay modern and provide comfortable rooms. The old school beachy resort feel was great. It was warm outside, but the AC kepth the rooms nice and cool during the summer days and nights.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the patio rooms with a Gulf View. It is worh the extra cost and it had a great...

This is the oldest beachfront hotel in Naples, Fla. It is in a great location for dining & shopping. The rooms & pool have been recently renovated. Our room, which was located in the Penthouse tower had a comfortable bed, a nice oceanfront balcony. Our bathroom was small but an extra sink & mirror was located outside the bathroom making it very practical for two people. The only downside was the water pressure in the shower was very light. Luckily, it also had a hand wand shower too. The pools: they had a family & adult only pool with two hot tubs. Both areas were very busy as it was 4th of July weekend. They were very nice!! They were just not big enough for the crowds! The beach was nice, but many people including myself were stung by sea lice or jellyfish. They do have vinegar to spray on it, and I felt better after that. I highly recommend renting a car and driving to First Watch for breakfast & dining at Roy's, Truluck's , Cafe Lurcat's , Campellio's. Naples is a foody paradise!!

Room Tip: Penthouse tower have oceanfront rooms. Watkins tower has ocean views rooms.

It was our first time staying at this resort and we were pleasantly surprised. Imagine the customer service of the Ritz but in a relaxed family atmosphere. The pools were great, we especially enjoyed the relaxing adult pool. The resort is right on the beach so we could go back and forth between the pool and the beach. We stayed in a gulf front two room suite on the 5th floor which was clean, nicely decorated and looked to be recently updated. Complimentary valet parking, with superfast service!

When i first checked in registration clerk was a little blah...sorry if you didn't want to be there. Our room in the Walking bldg was nice but slow elevator. The view of the pool and beach were excellent!!! The only horrible experience was seeing poop in the pool. I told someone in that area and called the front desk. Two men came, looked, talked and left!!! The pool wasn't cleaned until the next day. Even with that i would still go back.

We have stayed at this hotel almost every summer for nearly 25 years. Our kids have always looked forward to it and still enjoy it as young adults. Take an evening stroll on the beach or a few blocks south on the tree-lined streets to see all the lovely homes and gardens. The Old Florida wing has nice balconies.

Room Tip: If you stay in the Old Florida wing get a room upstairs- much quieter. The one at either far end is...

The hotel was great. Lots of space for entertaining and just getting together with the family. The only thing we didn't like was the dark sand and there were some sea bugs that were biting us in the water. The hotel is right on the water near Tin City. The staff were very friendly. They had charged us $10 for wifi and when my husband told them that the reception was not well in the room, they reimbursed the cost.

This is a nice hotel but it has several buildings. It is better to request the one you have preference with otherwise you may end up with a small room or farther away from pool or beach.
My preference is the new remodeled "Florida" wing.

Room Tip: The rooms are larger, wood floor and it only has two floors. No hallways. It has a nice large grassy...
