We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was about 1:00pm. There were two other occupied tables; the rest of the place was empty. We were greeted by a gentleman that did not speak a word. Nor did he smile. He just pointed us to a table with the corner of a stack of menus.
We ordered several dishes for the table.
1. Rolls – hot and delicious.
2. Lentil soup – a bit too watery. Otherwise, tasty. Seemed like they were running low so they added more water.
3. House salads – fresh, but ordinary.
4. Empanada’s – these were excellent! Loved them!
5. Eggplant Parmesan– average - not better than any Italian restaurant. Larger portion that expected for a tapas item (although not cheap at $12.00).
6. Caprese Salad – not as good as most places.
7. Garlic Chicken – Awful and inedible. This dish consisted of yesterday’s dark chicken leftovers made into balls (like melon balls) and swimming in a bowl of liquid butter. Very little garlic flavor. Chicken was stale and tough even drowning in butter.
The biggest problem was the slowness of this place. We were there 30 minutes before the ROLLS arrived. Additionally, there was 20 minute waits between courses. I understand that each item is specially prepared, but we were there over two hours for a very mediocre lunch.
I am a huge fan of Spanish Tapas restaurants, but this one is the worst I have been to. I would never go back to this place.
