After a week in Naples, we wanted to treat our hosts to a night out at a restaurant. The Watermark Grille had been recommended but we were told "Don't bother as you will have to wait several hours". Who can resist this challenge so off we went, prepared to sit at the bar for awhile. We gave our names and were told it would be 45 minutes. This was a Monday night! We settled into the packed bar on high stools and were enjoying people watching and the buzz circulating in the bar. The bar staff were very friendly. After 35 minutes we were surprised to be told our table was ready. Okay it was not the best location as it was right at the entrance and therefore people were constantly walking by but it did not disturb us. The service came quickly and we were soon munching on delicious hot bread and sipping our wine while our dinner were being prepared. The area of the restaurant resembled a ship's dining area with its 2 levels in the shape of a hull. The menu was extensive with a large selection of meats, pastas, fish and seafood. I had eaten a lot of seafood all week so I ordered the BBQ ribs with baked potato, carrots and green beans. I took the option of the salad starter. Everything was delicious, the ribs being some of the best I have ever eaten. The others had the scallops which they pronounced to be excellent, also with the salad starter. The portions were generous so we did not have a dessert, The price, including the wine, was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant and our hosts said they would put it on the list of places to bring their guests in the future.
