We live in the Tampa Bay area and have great seafood, so we were looking for something different during our quick getaway to Naples. We have NO Polish restaurant in our area and since we were looking for something different and saw Maria was rated #1 among all of the fabulous choices in the city, we couldn't wait to try it. We were lucky to catch a night when they could squeeze us in because it is small and intimate.... Don't let the "strip center" location fool you, this is a very charming restaurant, light, bright and airy...you open the door and you are made to feel welcome; like family. We are in the hospitality business and we KNOW what it is like to be properly treated...we try very hard to please everyone and to do it naturally....Maria and her staff do it well...they, like us, are people persons. Foodies, too! Don't miss the Cabbage Rolls or their famous Goulash! Bacon wrapped dates; a nice starter. The wine list was limited but a fabulous array of desserts more than made up for it....the coconut cake was killer.
But, it is the service and the atmosphere combined with the food that wins you over. Maria's charming daughter was back from the University of Florida for the summer and was helping to serve, a very young but very talented chef, "Ryan", was by our table inquiring about the food several times. It is this kind of total dining experience that you remember......remember for a long time and tell your friends...that is just what I am doing NOW!
