My husband and I looked forward to trying Flava in downtown Naples. We were warmly greeted by the waiter who was most attentive. I ordered salmon and my husband ordered sauerbraten. After an acceptable salad, our entrees were served. As I was about to embark upon my salmon, I noticed my husband having difficulty cutting his sauerbraten with a large steak knife (which, ordinarily, would not be necessary for sauerbraten). Finally, he stabbed the "meat" in a final endeavor to conquer it, only to discover that it was a seemingly shrink-wrapped piece of meat. (See enclosed photo.) Upon bringing this to the attention of the manager, who just happened to stop by to see how we were enjoying our meal, the immediate reaction was, "Oh, my God!" with the manager then, to my husband's horror, offering to get him another piece of that meat. Upon the manager being advised that we simply wanted a check, next appeared the (seeming) owner, who told us that the "chef," after preparing the sauerbraten, always wraps the individual pieces in plastic (for some unspecified reason), an explanation which we found dubious. I wonder if there is even a "chef!" I have never heard of meat cooked, or microwaved, and then served in shrink wrap (or whatever this thick casing was). This was not even a thin Saran Wrap. This was heavy duty "combat" wrap. We were not charged for our meals.

It is not usual for us to comment on any reviews, but we feel the need to respond to this last one, and clarify the truth or for you, just simply hear the other side. We are fully aware and most of all terribly sorry for our huge mistake of serving a Sauerbraten meat in a specific thin food wrap (as is very visible on the enclosed picture). The Sauerbraten recipe (as known) requires to cook the meat for at least 48 hours and in order to serve the pieces of meat fresh and juicy, they are wrapped individually and being heated with steam in high pressure steamer, which is not only professional, but the only correct way. Again, mistake (or simply human error) was made, and we like to express our apologies, thin food wrap skipped our attention during expedition from the kitchen during extremely busy dinner service.

However I do have few other comments: there is no microwave used in the type on gastronomy we are in and the quality of food produced by our Executive Chef and his staff is obvious from out other reviews.
... and by the way not only the meals were not charged, but also salads, bottle of wine and mineral water as a form of our apology, which they just probably forgot to mention.
