We read the reviews on Tripadvisor before our trip to Florida and decided to stay for a couple of nights at Green Links. We searced the net and found some coupons for $89/night + TAX (about £55/night!).
We planned on staying in Naples for a couple of nights before moving on to the Keys for the remainder of our stay.
When we arrived at the resort we were immediately impressed by the landscape, the surrounding area is immaculate. The two golf courses which the resort is built within (Mustang and Flamingo) are beautiful with lots of lakes and wildlife.
We walked into reception when we first arrived to see if there was any space and we were happy to here there was (September is their quietist month). We asked for a 1 bed apartment and presented our voucher (we had printed from the net), we also voiced our concerns about the small amount of construction work we had spotted on the drive in.
The guy at reception looked for an apartment away from the construction and gave us a key so we could check out the room before we signed up for the night. Unfortunately the key wouldn't work, nore would the next one! So they upgraded us to a better room (although I think they are all to the same standard) and all was well!
So the service was great! The rooms were even better! For £55/night we had 4 TV's, two bedrooms, two lounges each with bed sofas, two walk in showers, big bath, well equipped kitchen, baclony with great views and a study area! It was all really clean and seemed brand new.
The pool area (although a bit of a walk) was great, and the jacuzzi was nice too!
The golf courses (resort sited between two) are great and basically pay and play. A round is only about $17! Although a buggy is $18 and there is no way you will make it round without one. Even so that is still only about $35 (£20 ish) for 18 holes on an incredible course. Unfortunatley it costs $45 to hire clubs and the ones they gave me were not so good (the head fell off one club as I swung!) so take your own clubs if you can. The staff were not very helpful on the course but the course itself makes up for that!
We ended up extending our stay and not bothering with the Keys. Naples is a great place and I would recommend it to anyone looking for the 'REAL' Florida.
