We do an annual trip to Naples and I try and find random things to do since we stay for 2 weeks. I love animals and stumbled upon this place. I read somewhere, maybe the website, about sending a text mesage so I did one morning and basically said that we wanted to come on over and just walk around and it that ok...the guys said Sure! COme on over!
You might think your lost...but your not...keep driving...really slow because the road is all torn up...and you will make it there.
We got there and were so confused because the gate said to wait for someone so I tried called then someone waved us in. I understand it is a working ranch and everyone was working and looked confused why we were there! It was a little awkward, but I explained that we just wanted to take a look around so they said fine so we just walked around! There one one man, I think the owner or something...a really really tall cowboy man that was EXTREMELY nice and came up to us and said we can walk around and told us about a few animals, but he seemed busy too. We saw a llama, and some goats in this little tiny shed thing, some rabbits, an emu, and we about walked into a bull pen but turned around because we didnt know if we were allowed...but the guy came back and walked us right through the pen! The bulls were wusses :) We saw some pigs and horses and then just left.
All in all, it was a great place that rescues animals and you can tell the people work really hard. If it is going to be advertised as an "attractiIon"...it should be a bit more clear about what kind of attraction. I think that their "thing" is horseback riding...but all the other animals are just so cute and I enjoyed them!
I was disappointed that there was no office or donation box or anything...I wanted to donate $20 to the ranch. There was no one in sight so we just left.
I think that this place would be great if you call ahead and put a game plan together!!
