Let's get the positives done - the food is delicious, well cooked and presented and so much flavour. The noise levels some describe, I think actually add to the atmosphere. It's a busy, lively, vibrant restaurant and based on many of the reviews, pretty popular. Now for the not so positive - customer service. When we arrived, it took a good few moments for any member of staff to acknowledge us, even though the manager/owner was behind the bar, and two serving staff walked straight past us. Then a polite server called Michael came to greet us and took us to a table. We were then greeted by another server, a very nice lady, I can't tell you her name because once she had taken our order, we didn't see her again. In fact the only other time we received any attention from staff was when they brought our food. After that, we were left to our own devices. The reason being that there appeared to be a debate taking place amongst the staff and the manager/owner in the corner of the restaurant - and I only noticed this during our meal once I started to hear raised voices coming from what was becoming an ever increasingly heated debate. You know I realise that running a busy restaurant is no easy task but to have those kind of discussions in front of your paying customers is a big no for me. If you have staff issue you take them offline. We would have stayed for dessert had it not been for this. And the worst of it all, other than one server, again Michael, none of the serving team really seemed to care that we, and two other tables, were still eating and could hear. For the first time ever on a visit to the US, we left no tip (probably a state/federal law against that). Shame that it spoilt our evening. I hope no one else has to experience the same thing.
