“Pricey fun”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

The hiking trail is a very short nature trail through the "woods" and I do not think is maintained very well. The boat ride was nice though. The hospital is awesome, but there was not much to see. We were family of four and the admission was expensive.

“Educational but pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

I didn't think there was much to see. I thought the trails were too short, the boat ride was short too (but it was not their fault because there was a down tree on the river), and admissions was expensive. I thought the guides were knowledgeable.

“A Little Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

We appreciate the work that the Conservancy does but were a little disappointed in our visit. The entire venue was much smaller than we anticipated. The boat ride was quiet and informative, but short because a section of the river was blocked by downed trees. We did not rent a kayak but there were several available. The Discovery Center was freshly remodeled and had some very good volunteers willing to answer any questions. All staff members and volunteers were very friendly and helpful. There wasn't much to see in the Wildlife Hospital although there were several pelicans recuperating in the Shore Bird Pool. The gopher tortoises were inactive due to the cool weather. We spent a couple of hours there between the boat ride and walking around but doubt we will return.

“An enjoyable and educational escape to the natural world”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

If you are looking for a place to go to enjoy something more than the beach or the zoo without taking a long drive, this is the place to go. It's relaxing, interesting, educational and fun for everyone, at any age. You can walk through and enjoy the scenery, take a cruise on the inland waterway or rent a kayak and paddle through at your own pace, quietly taking in every natural detail. The mission of the Conservancy is going on around you and you can't help but feel good about the accomplishments being made to protect and care for the flora and fauna of SW florida. I give it 2 thumbs up.

“A nice time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

Lovely way to spend a few hours. The boat ride was a bit disappointing as the channel to more open water was blocked by downed trees. The exhibits were good and informative. Very helpful staff.

Hello TwoSoups,

I am sorry to hear you found the boat ride disappointing. It has taken some time to get the massive trees removed from the river. The next you're in Southwest Florida, we hope you come back to enjoy the full boat ride!
