“Family Vacation. ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Booked stay in Edgewater Beach Hotel to finish off vacation after the the hassle and bustle of Orlando. Couldn't be more pleased. Greeted upon arrival by friendly helpful staff. Wonderful suite, clean, modern and very well appointed. Choice of two pools or a short stroll to the private beach. Couldn't be more relaxed. Happy wife, happy kids = happy me :-)

When we arrived at the hotel, we were very excited since the location seemed unbeatable. The hotel is located at a beautiful, sandy beach. The parking was pretty difficult since the spots are very tight. During the check-in process, the receptionist explained to us that our rate/booking special allowed us to spend $100 a night for a total of $500 on food, drinks and items not covered in the resort fee. He explained that the special rate is "use it or loose it" and it wouldn't matter if we spent $50 one day and $150 the next day - we would still get the total of $500 deducted during the check-out. Well, that wasn't the case! The check-out receptionist, who was really rude and unpleasant, told us that since we didn't spend full $100 dollars on three out of five days, we wouldn't get credits from those days applied toward the two days we went over $100. Unbelievable!
We were given room 329, which was a total disaster! It is by far one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in, and I've stayed in some bad rooms in my youth. The previous occupants were obviously smokers, although we clearly booked the non-smoking room, since we traveled with our children. The smoke was attempted to be masked by an excessive amount of air-freshener, which was causing both me and my child to have issues sleeping during the first night. We called the reception to complain about the smoke and the clerk "Matt" said that the smoke was probably coming from the person underneath us, who was smoking on the balcony. This was simply not true. Nobody was smoking on the balcony below our room and the balcony was the only space where the air was breathable. The rest of the room does not look anything like the pictures on the hotel website - at all. The couch was old and so stained, we wouldn't let our children sit on it. The bathroom had no fan, the toilet bowl is extremely close to the door and the bath tub. The paint was peeling throughout the room, the carpet in the bedroom was in a very poor state. The beds looked like they were from another era - and I'm not talking about the classic look - these beds were not updated for quite some time. The room had no bottled water, that we were charged the resort fee for. However, we could have tolerated some of these things but the combination of cigarette smoke and the excessive use of air freshener was unbearable. We requested a transfer to another room and were given room 323 in the morning. This room was in a slightly better condition and it was obviously non-smoking room, which was a relief to us. Still, even this room looked nothing like the ones on the hotel's website. There were some magazines in the room, showing hotels in Naples and we were joking about the pictures of rooms that represented this hotel in the magazine and the state of our room. Not even close!
The positives from the trip were the beach, two pools and the Coast restaurant. The beach was really pretty, with powdery sand and warm ocean. We enjoyed swimming and walking down the beach. Our kids loved looking for shells and playing in the sand.
Two pools were pretty nice and there were always enough towels for use on the beach or by the pool. The only slightly negative was that nobody was making sure the pool rules (clearly stated) were followed. There were plenty of children without supervision whose parents were on the beach while they were at the pool. These children were also drinking smoothies in the pool and throwing plastic cups to the bottom of the pool. My wife and I were picking the items from the bottom of the pool since nobody else bothered.
The Coast restaurant was truly exceptional. The food was great and the prices are quite reasonable compared to other restaurants with similar offerings. We enjoyed every meal we'd had at the restaurant and we tried several different items each time we dined. Our kids also loved the food and they are usually picky eaters.
The cleaning staff was always friendly, nice and courteous. They were accommodating and the beds were nicely made.
All in all, three out of five stars, because of the beach, pool and the restaurant. On the negative side, the state of rooms is disappointing (can somebody explain where the pictures on the hotel's website were taken?) and the receptionists were rude and provided contradictory information.

Room Tip: Ask for an updated truly non-smoking room!

I love this hotel, the location, the staff, the shuttle, its all great. Any need i had was sorted immediately. Theres just one woman on reception thats not as helpful as the others but dont be put off by one person.
Cant wait to go back and we will. My only annoyance was the teenage pool party that arrived, as i found out some locals can pay to use the pool which i dont agree with as its busy enough with guests. They did deal with it and it was only for one afternoon however.......if that had of been my only experience of the hotel it would have had be running the other way. But thats it. Love this hotel.

After staying several days at another Naples hotel we moved to Edgewater for the weekend. We had a remodeled suite in the tower. It was very nice and big with an entryway, kitchen, living room and bedroom (bed was very tall kind of hard to get into). Also had a huge bathroom which was very nice. We had a city view, which was fine just not as nice as gulf view would have been, but I'm sure we could have upgraded. We were very pleased with the room and staff. There are two pools, both of which were very busy when we were there, lots of kids. We decided to spend most of our time on the beach, which was nice. Not quite as nice as the last hotel but not hotels fault, just a lot more shells and harder to walk in an out of the water. Beach staff was a little pushy at first, wanting us to get more stuff than we wanted, but they finally let us just get 2 chairs and an umbrella. The pool bar was fun, great bartender very funny. All in all a very nice place to stay.

We arrived on Monday had reserved a one bedroom Tower room with a city view. We were checked in by the GM front desk was a little busy. We went up to the room and checked the couch and found no fold out bed. We were going to have our 6 yr old sleep on the convertible couch. We called the front desk and were told they would send up a roll away. The room was small to begin with and adding a roll away was not a good option, We asked to be upgraded to a two bedroom unit and they accommodated us. The two bedroom unit is a nice size, plenty of room to stretch out. The master bedroom was a bit sparse on drawer space. The room has a full size refrigerator, microwave, and toaster perfect for breakfast and lunch. We ate dinner out or did take out. A Kuerig coffee maker with complimentary coffee, bottles of Fiji water every day. The hotel charges a $25 per day resort fee, I am not a fan of resort fees but as they go not outrageous. Our 6 yr old loved the pools they are pretty shallow no more than 5 feet deep in the pool closest to the hotel and 4 feet in the pool by the beach. The private beach had umbrellas and chairs. They should consider a kid's club or someone to come in the afternoon and have some structured events for kids. The sunsets were spectacular we would come down with our wine or beer and sit by the fire pit. We had a nice time will definitely consider if we decide to come back to Naples.

Room Tip: Two bedroom suites are nice, Beach view rooms have partial views from balcony.

The pictures look wonderful and the Trip Advisor ratings are superb. And with a Florida resident discount, what could be better? We had a 'renovated' room in the tower. Very nice view. Want to put your underwear away? Oops, no dressers. The TV table/desk had to do. Toilet was stopped up when we arrived. 5 phone calls, 3 visits, 2 1/2 hrs of waiting and it was finally snaked by the engineer. Toaster didn't work. Turns out the outlet wasn't working. Oh, and we needed to clean off the breakfast table. Seems like these things should be taken care of BEFORE we arrive. But the Keurig coffee maker was terrific and coffee was replaced every day.
Pool was nice. The umbrellas were the best I've ever encountered. Made for a relaxing day at the pool.
$25 resort fee - no problem. Getting our water that was included in the resort fee -- problem. Had to call every day. Also called for towels removed and not replaced, as well as dishes and silverware taken and not replaced. Staff always made us feel like we were bothering them, not that they were there for us.
Lunch at the restaurant was fine since we were at the pool. It didn't look great for dinner, so we enjoyed many of the fine Naples restaurants.

My husband and I and our daughter who's 12. Decided we wanted just a relaxing vacation. We love in south florida. This was our first time in naples. I found the edgewater resort on trip adviser and based on ratings and a great florida residents deal decided to go. We found the room to be lovely just perfect for our needs. We had a 1 bedroom sweet 3rd floor we were on the south side and had a great view of the pools and the beach. The staff was very nice. We didn't interact too much but the ones we did were just very nice. Our room was always clean. Wifi was great. On sat they have a few animals for the kids. It was fun. We stayed 6 days. The only things I'd have to say only for future reference and this is not a complaint just a suggestion. A breakfast Buffet would really be a nice touch. Breakfast was nice here we did it once but it was a bit pricy for us. I know other resorts charge for umbrellas I get it but if it were 10$ I might of considered it. We aren't big drinkers had a few from the bar again a bit pricey. But they were good. Over all I would defiantly come again. Might be my new summer vac to do. My daughter loved the pool and the beach. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for a great relaxing vacation.

We are so grateful that you chose us for your first Naples vacation and are glad it was a positive experience. South Florida is beautiful but as your pictures shows, the sunset's on this coast cannot be beat! Thank you for your positive feedback on the staff service and on our Saturday kids activities; we are so glad you enjoyed them. I appreciate your suggestion on the breakfast buffet; it is something we will certainly consider for the future.

Again, thank you for staying with us and for the recommendation. We would certainly love to become your new summer getaway!
