The short version: Good solid Cuban food, friendly service in English or Spanish, a pleasant room, and reasonable prices.
The slightly longer version: We have enjoyed Cuban cuisine in Miami, Boca Raton, Manhattan, a Latino neighborhood in Queens, NY. We've enjoyed it in a shack, in urban neighborhood hangouts, and in chain restaurants. Fernandez the Bull held up well in comparison. A churasco steak was excellent, a scallop and shrimp dish was very good, and was a generous portion. Black beans were better than average, maduros, which can be greasy in some places, were excellent. The location (this was the South Naples branch, there is one north in Naples Park, too) in an unpreposessing shopping center, inside was pleasant and attractive, and we were made comfortable among a mixed clientele of Latinos and Anglos, families, couples, and groups of friends. We will return when we're next in the neighborhood.
