“A Day with the wildlife!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

On a cool day with friends , it takes about 3 hour to walk around the boardwalk. We had the best day seeing a deer, raccoon's, all kinds of wild birds and alligators. The wild flowers and the serene feeling you get just being in nature, made it so enjoyable.

“Miles of nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Tucked into the back woods of Big Cypress Preserve, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is a natural wonder. Their miles of boardwalk get you up close and personal with things one might only have ever seen in National Geographic before. Be sure to come in alligator hatching season where you can see freshly hatched baby gators swimming close by a guarding mother. In the spring near the rookery areas, you can see egrets in full breeding plumage. If you're worried about bugs, tuck a dryer sheet in your back pocket to keep Florida's state bird, the mosquito, at bay. Be sure to bring your camera, as ever visit provides a unique, once in a lifetime experience.

“Out in the wild of the Everglades”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

One of my favorite places to "escape" is Corkscrew Swamp. Listening to the birds; on the lookout for wild life; spotting the flora (Ghost Orchids can be seen here) - a real gem in Naples area.

“Nice Day Trip - Recommend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Very nice day trip ... recommend, especially during periods where there is rain (more birds and wildlife). Exceptional visitor center -- very informative. There is a nice walkway through the sanctuary ... wheelchair accessible (ez and enjoyable wheelchair push with 90 year old mother). Lots of birds and other wildlife to see.

“For The Birds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Nice 2 1/2 mile boardwalk run by the Audubon Society. Plenty of birds to see. Many volunteers to help with questions about the fauna. A worthwhile trip.
