“Awesome Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

We have stayed in a variety of different vacation venues locally, nationally and abroad yet I can firmly say this experience was an awesome first impression of a bed and breakfast. The food prepared by John and Arthur was certainly comparable to a 5 star restaurant which was a pleasant surprise for me. I found our hosts to be very knowledgeable about the area and things to do locally. We found the home nicely restored while retaining the ambiance of a historic home. This is certainly a getaway we will revisit in the near future.

Adora Inn was such an amazing place to stay! We we're looking for something new and unlike hotels! From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel like we were home! The rooms were adorable and clean and the food was OUTSTANDING! We also enjoyed a nice bike ride from Adora to Clermont and loved the town! We will return, and next time, it'll be with friends to enjoy it too! Thanks John and Arthur!!!

Mt. Dora is a beautiful, charming, friendly town and The Adora Inn is a perfect example of what you'll find there. The conversion of this old duplex into a B&B was very nicely done - they retained all of the beauty & charm of the old quality craftmanship and combined it with modern amenities. It is very nicely appointed, comfortable, clean, and located close to the heart of downtown so that most places are within walking distance. The fabulous breakfast alone makes this B&B worth checking out! Arthur & John are such gracious hosts - you'll feel like you're visiting with friends. The Adora Inn certainly exceeded our expectations!

This was such a cute and quaint place to stay! Both John and Arthur were very welcoming and entertained us as if we were all old friends. They had great recommendations as to where to go and where to avoid. I am looking forward to going back one day!

Room Tip: The suite was a great choice for friends to have free flowing space to congregate.

Comfortable, immaculate, friendly atmosphere, amazing breakfasts, interesting proprietors, perfect location right on fringe of downtown Mt Dora streets. Rooms were squeaky-clean, well-appointed and not overdone. The Owners converted this craftsman style duplex into a mirror-image B&B that is functional and convenient. The house signature is that there are no Televisions. Get ready for a culinary experience because their gourmet breakfasts are a real house treat. We had lunch in one day (in lieu of the box lunch offered) and it was even better than breakfast. Proprietors offer a dinner that includes 2 glasses of wine but we unfortunately did not have time to schedule that into our plans. Based on the cooking skills we observed, if you can schedule it in, you likely would experience a treat better than the best restaurants in town. There is sufficient gated backyard parking. Area is fun and safe to walk at night. We will most certainly return to the Adora Inn for our next overnight stay in Mt Dora.

Room Tip: There are 4 rooms on second floor and all looked comparable. We stayed in the Olive Room.

Hello Ed & Joana, thank you for the glowing review. The only correction is that as many of our guest order Dinner at the Inn, we do not provide alcohol as strict laws forbid us from serving any. However, like the guests you saw, many bring there own wine and we are happy to serve it for them during dinner. Hope to see ou both again.

My wife and I have 2 toddler age boys so we dont like to be away from them for too long. It was difficult to decide what we wanted to do for our anniversary with very little time. We chose the Adora because it looked clean and not cluttered and seemed like it would be a cozy place to relax for an evening. It was Perfect! The house is rich with history from every parking lot stone to stroke of paint on the 100 year old walls, however exudes a modern clean elegance that yerns for your mind and heart to sink in and relax. The Treehouse room, while being a cascaded ceilinged loft style room, was plenty spacious with its own large bathroom and roomy tub for 2 "wink wink". John and Arthur were a pleasure to talk to and extremely accommodating. Breakfast was nothing short of amazing! They helped direct us around the city and arranged dinner plans! We were only able to stay for 1 night but felt more relaxed and emotionally energized than we have in months. A perfect way to spend a short getaway! We are already making plans for next year and nothing but the Adora will do. Thanks guys!

Our stay at Adora was wonderful and so needed. We loved the fact that the owners cooked and had breakfast and great convo with us every morning. The doily-free atmosphere, music, service and comfort were bar none. Thank you both for a perfect weekend!
