What a lovely property owned and managed by two wonderful people - Patty and Gordy. They are extremely helpful and sincere. Friendly social hours from 5-6. Delicious and ample breakfasts. This most likely tops our B&B experience.

Great place to kick off your stay in Mount Dora. The owners, Gordy and Patty were fantastic. They did their utmost to make us feel welcome and to help us have a great experience in Mt Dora. We happened to be staying at the same time as some of their repeat customers. To me that speaks volumes about the kind of place the Grandview is. Especially loved the evening chats with other guests on the big front porch, with a nice glass of wine and a fruit and cheese tray. Just perfect!

We had planned a get-together with long-term friends and we all stayed at the Grandview for 3 days/nights. We felt as though we were at home! Gordie and Patti are wonderful inkeepers/hosts and they gave us (as well as the other guests at the Grandview) the use of the common areas in the house as well as the grounds. The B&B is well-cared for and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is an incredible experience--perfectly prepared and presented. Each evening, Gordie and Patti hosted a wine & cheese social for all guests and it provided a wonderful opportunity for great conversation with our hosts as well as other guests. Gordie will also serve as an invaluable source of information, directions, and he and Patti will even make dinner reservations at a restaurant of your choice. It was the best B&B experience we have ever had.

After experiencing the Grandview Bed and Breakfast, you will not want to return home! My husband, John and I have stayed here numerous times and this B&B remains #1 on our list, even over luxurious hotels across the United States!! From the wonderful conversations you will have over wine and cheese with the other guests to the scrumptious gourmet breakfasts (generous portions!) prepared and served by Patti and Gordie, you will be convinced as well... Even the fine details, such as making dinner reservations for you or bringing an umbrella to your car, if you arrive in the rain are covered. In addition, Mt. Dora is such a quaint little town with lots of restaurants to enjoy along with shopping, which makes your getaway complete!! Make your reservations today, we are confident you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: We have stayed in several of the rooms here and find that they are all exceptionally clean, comforta...

I agree with Kathryn M.'s review of earlier this week. Reservations were difficult to make and get confirmed, mainly because I am hearing impaired, but also because the whole travel world has on line systems. Coffee was early enough for me, available at 7am, breakfasts for two mornings had good variety of cooked dishes, fresh fruit and juice. Conversation at breakfast was a nice
touch, meeting however briefly, six or seven other couples including two from Great Britain.

We stayed in the Windmill Cottage, a little pricey for a two some, but given the aforementioned
hearing issue and my insomnia, two bedrooms are a must or neither of us would get any rest.

We had a couple of issues with dim lighting on both floors, especially in the bathrooms, plus a little concern that no maid service was provided (apparently one has to request that, but no one
told us and there really was no information before hand). Soap dispenser in upstairs bedroom was empty, excellent shower however.

An upgrade for the two TV's would be a good suggestion, wall mounted in the upstairs bedroom would allow better viewing from the prone position

Gordie and Pattie were gracious and conversational, the setting is very casual which is what we had expected. All in all, except for a few glitches a very nice B&B.

A couple of suggestions that would really have improved our experience: web reservations and early coffee. We travel a lot and keep track of our reservations online. First we had to call to make the reservations (phone tag) and then call again to confirm since we had nothing in writing (phone tag again.) Gordie offered to provide early coffee but forgot. No problem with forgetting, but I noted at least three coffe pots in the kitchen. One pot could be prepared and placed in the dining room. First guest up can flip the switch and enjoy coffee pronto. As it was, I waited 2.5 hours for the coffee which doesn't start my day well. I don't expect the hosts to rise extra early just because I do. Putting the pot out would be so easy! The hosts are congenial and the accommodations nice but not five star. However, the value received is very good.

Loved Mt Dora the Christmas lights especially at the Marina were Fantastic! Grandview is fabulous. We couldn't have picked a better place. Unfortunately we only had 1 night on our way to Ft lauderdale to pick up a cruise, we should have made it longer.

Room was very comfortable with a large bathroom and all spotlessly clean. Gordie & Patti are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed chatting to them over the wine, cheese and nibbles they supplied.

The pool looked very inviting and would be perfect on a summers day or evening.

The breakfast was very well cooked and there was plenty of it. Would definitely stay here again
if we are ever in the area again.
