“Clean, Quiet and No Surprises”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2009

My wife and I stayed at the Sleep Inn from February 15th to February 20th 2009.
The room was just big enough to accommodate one queen-sized bed along with a microwave and refrigerator. That suited us just fine as we only would be using the room for sleep. Our trip was to get away from the cold northeast and take advantage of Miami’s sun and warmth.
Everything in the room was clean and orderly. The shower had plenty of hot water and their outdoor heated pool and lounge area was kept clean. The continental breakfast was ok to get us started in the morning - juices, hard boiled eggs, mini-muffins, cereal, fruit and bread.
Even though the hotel is right next to Miami Airport, it was relatively quiet at night and allowed for good sleep. The surrounding area appeared a bit run down but we felt safe taking daily walks about the neighborhood before heading off to the beach, which was about a half hour away.
This hotel was perfect for us, as we were looking for something in the Miami area that was under a hundred bucks a night. If I was to visit the Miami area again on a tight budget, I would definitely consider staying at the Sleep Inn again.

Stayed here 2 nights, feb 28th and march 14th, with wife and 2 kids, close to airport, had golf course side room so was quiet, shuttle service was nice, nice pool for kids, staff was exellent, gave us milk for baby, friendly, overall, no complaints, would stay at the sleep inn again.

Easy to get to, friendly staff very close to airport. Sleep in has a 24 hour shuttle which was great it leaves the hotel every half hour that was amazing as we had to be at the airport at 5.30am in the morning and was a little stressed about getting a taxi and not getting there on time. They dropped us off at the right terminal and made it all very easy. Rooms where comfortable and clean great for our one night stay. A 25 minute walk back to the hotel from car rental drop off centres as well. On approach it looked like there was not many places to eat but we found a great bar 5 minutes walk up the road to eat with great priced large meals.

We stayed here two nights prior to a trip to Ecuador. We did not feel threatened by the location and walked to the IHOP twice and the Chinese restaurant once (clean and good food). We also walked a couple of blocks to a convenience store. This was a little farther trip and probabaly should be done during daylight, although we did it after dark with no problem. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The airport shuttle worked well.

We took a taxi to the beach and it cost us $50 with the tip. We rode the bus on the way back and it cost $6--but it took us four hours. Now that we know what to do, we could cut that time to under two hours. The bus route we took back (wrong route-long way around) took us right by the super yacht show so it was kind of fun anyway.

We were looking for an inexpensive overnight stay before a cruise from the Port of Miami. Having stayed at a Sleep Inn in the past overnight, I was confident that I was making a good choice at their excellent rate, and it did not disappoint. Our flight ended up arriving an hour late, around 8:15 pm. Once our luggage arrived, we called the hotel to inquire about the free shuttle. We were told it would come at 8:45 and 9:15, and to meet it on the second floor. It was just after 8:45, but when we got upstairs they were just boarding the van right out the exit door, perfect. Sleep Inn was the 3rd drop off hotel, and we were there within 15 minutes. I had called earlier in the day and asked to reserve the shuttle to the pier in the morning. This is with an outside company, and the cost was $10 per person, which is reasonable. We were efficiently checked in, and our room was clean and serviceable. Breakfast is served in the morning in the standard cold buffet fashion, but was certainly fine with us. Had coffee and bowls of cold cereal, and knew that we certainly weren't going to starve once we got on the ship, so it was perfect. The shuttle was scheduled to arrive at 11 am. They were running a little late due to traffic, but were excellent about communicating this to the reception desk. The company was sending 3 vans as there were quite a number of people staying there that needed transportation. The first van arrived, and the driver seemed honestly concerned that the other vans were not right behind her, which was rather impressive. We were at the pier by 11:30, so all worked very well.

  • Liked — Convenience to airport, the price was right
  • Disliked — Wouldn't stay more than overnight.

this hotel was great for the night before or after a flight.it was near the airport but not noisy as you might expect.you could hear some rumblings from the airport but notthing major.its great for before or after a flight but would not stay more than 2 nights as it is a bit far from the beaches and other attractions if you dont have a car, apart from that we couldn't fault it.check in was fine, quick and friendly.rooms were really clean and fresh.comfy bed,tv,air con,in room safe, coffee maker and good bathroom.continental breakfast with the usual fare.pool for hotel guests and volleyball court if your up to it.would stay here again.a few eateries within walking distance

A typical Sleep Inn, this hotel did not disappoint. Clean room, decent breakfast, helpful staff.

There were not many eating options for someone, like me, without a car. The sister hotel nearby, Comfort Inn, had a restaurant of sorts where I found something to eat.

They arranged for a shuttle to the port of Miami, offering three different times of departure for $11 per person. ($1 was a mandtory tip and the driver didn't help with the luggage!)
