This was a great hotel, comparable to more up-scale brands like Hyatt Place. A huge plus for us was that it was all non-smoking which was important due to asthma and allergies. I could find no other hotels in the area like that. Reviews of many other nearby hotels (even the hotel inside the airport) complained of cigarette smell and other odors in the room and bugs - there was nothing like that here.
I see that others had complaints about the shuttle. I can see how this might be an issue - there were 7 of us and we filled the van at the airport and the driver had to tell people at other stops that he had to return. But I don't really see how to get around that other than to have multiple vans which is not practical. It was confusing as we flagged down a van from the "Comfort Inn and Suites" and he said he wouldn't drive us (turns out that is a completely different hotel down the road). Luckily, we did not run into any problems with the shuttle.
I did have one major complaint. I prepaid and booked the room through the Choice hotel web site. When I returned home, I found a $2 charge on my credit card. I called the hotel to inquire and they said it was a charge to use the room safe. I was dumbfounded. I told them I didn't even use the safe - to their credit, they told me they would refund the $2 (haven't seen it on my credit card yet, but will take their word for it). This hidden charge is highly unethical. However, $2 is not enough to ruin all of the good points of this property.
Breakfast was nice as were the internet/business computers. Pool area was a little on the small side, but probably appropriate for this tier of hotel. When we used the pool, there were no towels but luckily we brought our own from the room. The hotel was on the expensive side as far as this tier of hotels go, but was on par with other hotels in the area so I guess that's to be expected.
Staff was about average - not overly helpful but not rude by any means.
Location is not great as far as restaurants and such but my primary requirement was to be near the airport, which it was. That said, the Honduran restaurant down the street had great food.
Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay at this hotel again.
