“An Iconic South Beach Image”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014 via mobile

Because this is an iconic hotel on this property, rooms vary greatly. Staying there with our family and friends, we had access to several rooms on different floors. Our first room featured a full length window next to the toilet. There was a translucent pull down shade, but stall was a disconcerting spot when the lights were turned on, nevertheless. Unfortunately, the cleaning and inspection of this room was not thorough. The toilet ran and ran, but more interesting was the bedside stand full of receipts and travel docs left by the previous occupant. Room was not dusted- easy to spot on dark surfaces- and wear and tear was obvious on light sconces. Then, after check-in, in the space of the next hour, we visited 3 more rooms, and realized ours was the smallest and dumpiest. Since we were there for our son's wedding-and hosting a gala dinner- we started thinking badly of the front desk staff who stuck us in this room! Especially since others, whose rooms I had reserved as part of our reservations, were assigned beautiful deluxe rooms- garden tubs, double closets, big baths, no full length toilet window, sparkling clean, etc- oh and large balconies too! Complaints were made and we were transferred about midnight to a nice room, now similar to the ones given to others in the group for same price under my reservation. Once that was done, and room was maintained beautifully, and all running water ran correctly, I was happy! And yes, the large event the hotel put on for us exceeded all expectations. The service and food and handling of unique weather event was done professionally and seamlessly. Also, front door bell staff was very responsive and quick for valet and luggage service. Hotel is very large, with a very sleek and chic lobby, and lots of pretty outdoor space. We were so busy with special events we did not have a chance to explore- but the hotel lobby was decorated for the holiday with wonderful gingerbread houses that delighted us each time we paused to wait for the elevators!

We were here for 4 days for a business trip and had a great visit. Nice room and accommodations with lots of space in our King room. Guest services and room service were both very good. Pool and beach area is very nice with a boardwalk along the beach. Not much to do beyond the hotel without a few mile drive down to south beach but overall a nice visit. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: try for an ocean view room.

I have stayed here several times and have always had a great experience. Note, the Ocean Towers are the nicer rooms with better views and updated decor. Otherwise the rooms are very small and not a great view. Over the past few years, the hotel has really updated their look and amenities, including the expansion of their spa/gym area. The pool scene is nice and right on the ocean. It is an easy walk to many great places, including the Fontainebleau, which has a great night club. I like this hotel because you are in a great location but away from the really crowded places. The hotel gets busy though and often times there are long waits at the front desk and the restaurants.

Room Tip: Stay in the Ocean Towers

I recently stayed at this hotel for a business conference that was held next door at the Fontainebleau (FB). Eden Roc is a very nice hotel with a great pool area and access to the beach. The room was very nice, although my view was not great, probably due to being there for work. I only ate at the hotel once at the restaurant near the pool and it was very good and the staff was very friendly. I also appreciated the free beach chairs.

The only downside to this hotel is the proximity to the massive FB. If I had been there for a vacation I would have been annoyed with all of the people. There was at least one conference going on in the Eden Roc and two more next door at the FB so there was a ton of business people at the hotels. This tended to have certain venues closed due to private parties. I would definitely check with hotel about conferences going on before booking for a vacation. The only other negative for me was the location of the hotel which is on the north side of South Beach. There is very little within walking distance compared to other hotels towards the south. Be prepared to take cabs if you don't have a car.

Overall it is a great hotel if you can avoid the conferences and don't mind taking cabs/driving around town.

It was a comfortable stay in a nice hotel to attend a conference. Conference rooms were set up well to view and hear while room temps were just right. Conveniently located close to airport in Miami. Having the boardwalk along the ocean was nice for getting outside to get some excercise and the beaches are very nice and clean right there along the resort.

I stayed at the Eden Roc for a 5 nights with my husband and another couple in December. I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel. We had an Ocean View room on a high floor. What a gorgeous view, and the balcony was Hugh! Room is beautifully decorated with a fantastic big bathroom. The pools are great, they're heated and there is also an adults only pool which is a plus. Great beachfront restaurant where we had lunch everyday. The fish tacos were to dye for! The beach is a highlight, fantastic!! Plenty of room for everyone and beach lounge chairs were included. You did have to pay for the umbrella though. I love the décor of the hotel lobby. It feels like old time Vintage Miami Beach but with an updated and new feel, really great! But one of the best things about this hotel by far was the staff. They couldn't do enough for us. Always asking if there was anything we needed, and very friendly. I call that fantastic service! It's a 8 minute cab ride away( I timed it) to Lincoln Rd and Collins Ave and it cost $20.00 for 4 people, very reasonable. I like being on the quieter end of Miami Beach so this was not an issue what so ever. Also it's a short 5 minute walk to a bunch of stores, Walgreens, Dunkin Donuts, cafes and restaurants.I can't wait to return to Eden Roc and highly recommend it to anyone that wants a great hotel in Miami!

Room Tip: Ocean view room on a high floor.
