“Comfortable and clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

I stayed for a few days and everything was as promised. The room was clean and comfortable. The view of the ocean was spectacular. The service was excellent. I liked that there was a Starbucks in the lobby even though the entire lobby was open and airy.
What negative comments I have are truly minor: I didn't feel that the spa's fees were justified, nor was the $35 valet parking fee. However, it's South Beach and everything is waaaaaaay overpriced. Although I liked the shower mechanism, I'm not sure that many other people would. One thing for sure is that there does need to be some sort of door on the shower because the water sprays all over.
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat though...

Everything about the Eden Roc was superb! Location, ameneties and service was excellent.

I would definitely stay again. Try the spa, it was great as well. The hotel is also next to the Fountain Blue, so you can go to Liv and party all night and are steps to your room.

Located in the heart of Miami Beach near the Art Deco district, Lincoln Center and Fontainebleau Club. Right on the beach! We visited it at Christmass 2011

We liked the hotel immediately, at first sight, as soon as we walked in!
Very pleasant atmosphere, a new lobby, a marvelous design.
Beautiful rooms with ocean views, bright and airy!
Very comfortable beds. Large bathroom with shower.

Nice grounds with several pools, a lot of corners for privacy and relaxation.
Breakfast - it is something special! Very good food! Also a nice grill bar on the beach. Also there is a Starbucks on the ground floor ).

Helpful, polite and courteous staff made our stay carefree .
Ordered room service. It delivered all quickly and efficiently. I liked it.

The hotel has its own spa. Large selection of treatments & massages.

A very good impression about the rest.
I love this hotel definitely!

We just returned from a 4 day stay at the Eden Roc Resort in Miami Beach. I will preface by saying we stayed two nights by redeeming Marriott points and paid full retail for the other night. When we booked the only choice we had to redeem the points was an interior vew in the older tower (forgot the name, but not the new ocean tower). Upon arrival, we were impressed with the trendy renovated lobby. The front desk immediately upgraded us to an Ocean View room on the top floor (21) in the new tower to thank us for being loyal Marriott members. The upgrade also included some vouchers to use the spa ammenities and an umbrella rental on the beach. We took the early flight and arrived at the hotel around 10am and they were able to accommodate us and had a room ready upon arrival, which was nice!

The room is spacious, renovated and Miami trendy. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is very nice with a spa shower, double sinks and a jacuzzi tub. Our view was amazing. The only complaint would be that you can see onto your neighbors balconies which I thought was a little weird. Maid service was also a little spotty - the first full day we were there we had to call before we left for dinner for them to come and clean the room, but we didn't mind too much.

Food - We ate at the Cabana Beach bar for lunch 2 times. The service there was great (thanks Hannah and Michael). Try the Blackened Salmon Salad - it is delicious! We also had breakfast one day at the 1500 restaurant. They have a buffet option as well as a la carte. We chose the buffet and it was delicious - all local ingredients. We ventured off the resort for the rest of our meals - feel free to message me if you have questions. We ate at Front Porch Cafe on Ocean Drive for breakfast one day. For Lunch we also ate at the Mediterranean Gril at the Fountainbleau which is right next to Eden Roc. For Dinners we tried Prime 112 Steakhouse, Texas De Brazil and the Burger & Beer Joint. All were delicious.

We rented Jet Skis from the Boucher Brothers right on the beach...a little pricy but so is everything in Miami! The view is really cool from out on the ocean.

The beach is gorgeous and well kept - there is a nice boardwalk that starts right after the Eden Roc (take a right out of the resort) and takes you all along the beach past all of the resorts. Along the way you can stop at bars and restaurants that are open to the public. Almost every bar/restaurant has a happy hour that you can take advantage of (and you should!). We stopped at the Courtyard Bar - they have 2 for 1 drinks during happy hour. We also stopped at Fountainbleau. This bar and hotel is a little more trendy and caters to a younger crowd with a dj etc.

During our stay the elevator in the Ocean Tower actually broke and was not working for awhile. The marriott staff was super helpful and escorted everyone to the lobby bar and offered drinks on the house while it was fixed. Some people were not happy about this but after our comped drink we decided to get a little exercise and took the 21 flight walk to our room...I just thought it was nice that the staff was very accommodating and tried to keep everyone happy because it could have been a little frustrating to people that had plans. But some stairs never killed anyone!

We did not rent a car during our stay and took cabs everywhere. There is a bus that stops right outside the hotel and takes you around Miami. A cab was between 8-13 dollars to Ocean Drive and some of the other areas in South Beach. The Cab ride from the airport is about $33 flat rate.

Like other reviewers said, this is not located right in the "Action" - South Beach is abour 2-4 miles away. We didn't mind the location at all. The resort has everything you need that you don't even have to leave if you don't want to. We had the cab stop at a liquor store to get some drinks from the room (the $15 drinks can add up if you are drinkers!). However, our room did not have a fridge (FYI).

The sun does set behind the ocean tower so you lose sun at the pools earlier than you would expect. We enjoy the beach more so it wasn't an issue for us.

The Spa was amazing and beautiful! I highly recommend using the ammenities (we had a voucher, but I think it is $25 per day). There is a jacuzzi and a cold tub as well as a eucalyptus steam room, spa showers, and a sauna. If you are traveling as a couple there are two areas where you can relax with your spouse. The relaxation room overlooks the large pool and has an ocean view. It has great chaise lounges and a fire place with reading material, herb water and some light snacks where you can relax. There is also a sun terrace deck that has cabanas and a private bar where you can soak up the sun.

Overall we had a great stay and would definitely return! If you are traveling soon, the weather was amazing! 80 and sunny most of the day. We did experience a couple of showers during our stay, but the sky would clear right up and be sunny again.

Cancelled our reservation at Winter Haven on South Beach because they didnt have a pool. We were able to reserve a room here and BOY are WE HAPPY we did! We stayed from a Sunday to a Wednesday in the newer tower on the 14th floor with a pool/ocean view. With a choice of 4 different pools ,several lush lounge areas inside and out, this place is off the charts compared to other places we looked. Just take a walk on the beachside boardwalk and compare what you see on the other properties, only Le Cote looked bigger and possibly nicer.
The room is ultra mod. We loved the spacious bathroom with the overhead rain shower. Great firm mattress and nice quality linens. Mini fridge was great to store our snacks from Publix grocery store up the road. The balcony has a cushy lounge chair with ottoman.
Elevators are quick. As you can tell , we've no complaints!

I recently stayed at the Eden Roc Hotel at the end of August and loved my stay there. The service was great and the staff was very helpful. They knew the different venues to take and areas that were a must see. My Aunt and I even ate at their elegant restaurant called "1500". The food there was all so yummy. This was my first time ever in Miami and I'm glad that I chose this hotel for my first stay. It was alittle expensive but well worth the trip and stay. I would stay at this again and again. Just lovely.

After reading the reviews here, I have to say we were a bit apprehensive of our upcoming stay. After staying here (for three nights on Marriott points), it's now clear that the hotel is a bit confused whether it's a 4-star or 5-star establishment - confusing for us, too. 5-star prices for rooms, but 4-star hospitality: our two-story, poolside room (to which we were kindly upgraded, for free) had chipped paint, ripped lampshades and dirty windows. We later found out the room retails for at least $500-600/night - would certainly never pay that for what we received! Pool facilities were also disappointing, as the 'new' ocean tower completely blocks out the sun after 3 pm (in the winter, at least) in the main pools and, a few minutes later, in the adults-only pool. A bit poorly designed! Would stay here again on Marriott points (when taking into account the other options in Miami Beach), but would not recommend to friends or family if they were to pay.
