Great location - within walking distance of Ocean Drive, South Pointe Park, banks, pharmacies, supermarket, restaurants, bars, bus - you dont really need a car if all you want is accommodation on SoBe and have no intention of going anywhere else apart from the airport - which is 15-20 mins away on 395 / 195. For those with a car you probably wont find much cheaper parking - and you can park it yourself next to the hotel

As Brits we would have liked a coffee maker in the room we could convert into a teapot - but hey you can't have everything!

Staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was comfortable.

Breakfast was OJ, coffee, cereal, yoghurt, milk, tea and pastries - just the job.

Stayed twice during our two week vacation in South Florida and will definately go back again.

We stayed for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. We found this hotel through tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed! Hotel is in a great location - it took less than 25 mins from MIA (even at 6pm). Great welcome from the staff and simple check in. Room generally lovely - antiquated air conditioning rather noisy though! Only a couple of blocks walk to Ocean Drive and all the beach, bars etc. We would echo the 'thin walls' comment made by another guest - we could hear some of our neighbours across the hall getting down to some serious lurve making! Scream anyone?!

We tried to stay off Ocean Drive for meals - lots of nice places along Washington that don't charge rip off prices.....

Lincoln Road easy to get to - we took a cab one evening and it was about 7 dollars for us both. Go to SushiSamba (Lincoln/Pennsylvania) - yummy Brazilian and Japanese fusion food!

We stayed recently for two nights after a cruise. The location could not be better. Nice SOFI neighborhood, and walking distance to everything. If the walk to Lincoln Rd is too much for you the loop bus (.25c) stops right outside and runs every 15 minutes.

The rooms were nice and clean, Great bathroom as mentioned by other reviewers, although the A/C and plumbing were very noisy, and the walls very thin. It may have just been our room, which was ground floor and not the best location (No view). The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. One lady in particular whose name I did not get. Always had a smile and a good attitude.

We made use of the lobby and the seating out front. Nice place to sit with a book and a bottle of wine.

Breakfast is minimal, I would suggest adding some fruit, but there are numerous places on Ocean Drive for a more substancial breakfast. Since we were going to be back in the neighborhood within a few weeks we looked at rooms in some other properties. We have reserved at the Hotel St Augustine again, as we found tthis to be the best value.

One suggestion - Change the carpet in the hallways. It is old and worn, and does not do justice to the rest of the property. You see this before you see your room and it makes you worry needlessly what you will find when you open the room door.

The St Augustine is a very decent place to stay. Its much nicer than several other hotel of the same price category I stayed at in South Beach.
Pros: good service and friendly staff, cool steam room in the shower, quite location but still within 20 minute walking distance of the main sites, nicely decorated rooms, simple breakfast and free internet access included
Cons: noisy A/C and thin walls.

Perfect location in Miami Beach, the rooms are spacious and well designed - open bathroom.
A little bit noisy - you can hear the neighbours.
Breakfast not so good - no relax eating - better to eat somewhere else - but to have the first coffee and a juice it is ok

This is the second time in two years I have stayed at Hotel St. Augustine. I knew what to expect and it still lives up to my expectations. Off of Ocean, it is quite but so close to the restaurants & night life and, most importantly, the beach. Love the decor of the rooms. Naturally, the shower/sauna and bath amenities are a huge draw. I will continue to stay here for my SoBe trips.

My husband just return from hot Miami and a lovely week long stay at the Hotel St. Augustine. This was our second trip to South Beach and we really enjoyed staying in the Sofi district. Located at 4th St and Washington, the hotel is close to the beach and many excellent places to eat, but not in the middle of the chaos of Ocean Drive. The hotel staff was great. The room was impeccably clean and they offer a nice breakfast (coffee, tea, cereal, yougurt, pastries, etc.) accompanied by the New York Times. The steam shower was amazing and we followed every trip to the beach with time in the steam.
I've read complaints that it's a long walk from Sofi to other things in South Beach. We're from New York CIty and perhaps this is why walking doesn't bother us. From the Hotel to Lincoln Drive took about 15 minutes even in 94 degree heat, but for those less loving sweat, there is the South Beach local, that runs the length of Washington Ave and costs a mere $.25.
