Stayed here for 1 night after coming off our cruise. We arrived early and were told to pile our luggage in the hallway where it would be "watched." Around 3:50, we finally checked in. Rooms were slightly better than our last stay but being on the 4th floor with the slow elevator (which would be a major issue at check out), it took us a while to get there. Asked about washing our clothes and was told we could wash them in the back for free. Around 7:30, took my clothes downstairs to be washed and I guess the new manager (middle aged blonde woman) walks into the laundry/ice machine room/soda machine-dispenser (more on that in a minute) and asked why was I back there. I stated my business and she tell me I need to pay for washing and drying ($3.00 each for the machines). When i told her we were told they could be used for free, she looked at me and said , "Who, that old b**** who was up front?, HA"! Okay... She then returns 30 minutes, (it was clear she obviously had been drinking) later asking me which frozen food entree should she eat? Lean cuisine or Marie Calendars? Then I hear a whole bunch of music and loud laughter from the from front area. She was definitely drinking and partying along with the guests so i headed back to my room. Walked outside at 10:00 to see 2 members of my family sitting down at the tables in front of the hotel (The Starlite Restaurant). My cousin orders a soda and was told the EXACT same flavors that was in the soda machine in the back. Looked in the hallway and sure enough the waiter went to the soda machine in the back room and filled up his glass with a CAN SODA THAT HE WAS CHARGED $3.75 but only $1.00 in the machine!! Was asked if I wanted anything, said no. Was then told if I wasn't buying anything, I would have to get up as they only serve paying customers. Told them i was staying at the hotel and they say it didn't matter. My cousins asked them why I had to get up if they were ordering. They said it was policy. They promptly canceled their food, paid for the expensive can soda (+15% gratuity!!) and we went to Johnny Rockets. The next morning at 7:00 am they start CONSTRUCTION in the hallways, (drilling, hammering, you name it) waking me out of the little sleep I was trying to get. At 9:00, housekeeping didn't even KNOCK on the door. They just opened the door! I was done. I showered, got my belongings and got ready to leave. There was sheet rock and ceiling tiles in the hallway. I waited 10 minutes for the elevator, only to be told It wasn't working!! So i dragged 40 lbs of luggage and bags down 4 flight of stairs and left. I wont be back!!!
