spent a week in South Beach in September. The weather was good, and since it was not high season the hotel rates were good.
I found a delightful studio in an art deco hotel right on Ocean Drive, close to all the restaurants and nightlife yet situated in a quiet location on the corner of Fifth. I can highly recommend this charming little hotel. if it's not a listed building it should be, the architecuture is superb and it has been beautifully restored.
The front of house staff are charming, could not be more helpful. It's a condo hotel, but I managed to get a great deal by contacting one of the owners via the vacationrentals website which lists lots of condos and studios in Miami.
I stayed in Studio 319 which had all the home from home comforts, fluffy bathrobes, Italian marble bathroom, well stocked kitchenetee, free high speed internet access. Best of all though is the rooftop terrrace with pool and hot tub and the most stunning views of the ocean and sunset.
Some evenings I was more than happhy to avoid the hustle bustle of Suth beach and just cook dinner and take it up to the roof terrace with a glass of wine and watch the sunset..bliss!.
One afternoon there was an unexpected but pleasant surprise, music struck up for the free concert on the beach directly opposite the hotel. Hsted by Puff Diddy who performed and also showcased all of his artists.
He even hosted a pre concert reception for one of his artists on the Bentley terrace. Though i cannot claiAnd it's not every day you get to see a rap star chilling with his friends right next to you, but then that's Miami for you.
I discovered that I liked Reggaethon, an artists called Tego Caldern was just great, all of South beach were dancing.
If this was a foretaste of Superbowl then visitors to this exicitng edvent are in for a real treat.
I managed to get a great deal by booking directly with the owner of the studio. It worked out at half the hotel rate, and she was
In September I spent a week in South Beach Miami. I found a charming studio in the art deco Bentley hotel. It was a real home from home, with fully stocked kitchenette, tv/dvd and internet access. Best of all was the rooftop terrace with pool, hot tub, and fantastic ocean views.
I managed to get a really good deal by contacting the owner of the studio via ---. It turned out to be half of what the hotel were charging for the same unit and she was really pleasant to deal with. You can contact her directly at southbeachrental@yahoo.com.
I really had a wonderful week, thanks to the charming staff I located some fantastic little Cuban cafes and supermarkets a couple of blocks away. They served the best food and some great spices and vegetables for those evening you do not want to dine out. I am not one for nightlife or lots of shopping, but Miami is the perfect place to unwind, go for walks, take pictures or just swim in the ocean.
I can highly recommend South Beach and studio 319 at the Bentley. Miami is a great city, I've never seen such great loooking people, they are as striking as the architecture. The beach also is the cleanest you will find anywhere. You'll have a wonderful time there as I did.
