“Cute hotel, great location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2011

Considering we wanted to stay on South Beach and right near Lincoln Road – this was definitely the place to be - walking distance to the beach and shops. The hotel is pretty small but compared with the prices for other hotels on South Beach – this one suited us best for cost.

When you first walk into the reception area you are greeted by a fresh smell and nice little layout. We went to our room and it was very very small – we booked a standard double room and 3 girls shared and we both had 2 suitcases each so it was very squashy but manageable. The bathroom was tiny and no space whatsoever to place your beauty products. We just had to make do with what we had considering the great location.

Some faults - the toilet was always blocked!! we had to call someone to fix it. The TV would switch off and disconnect. The power would go out when we were using too many electrical appliances - ie. hairdryer and iron. Smells old and the hallways have carpet that looks 50 years old! But all in all - you need to think of location and it is liveable so the good and bad outweigh each other!

Breakfast was actually pretty good – big selection of cold meats, fruit, eggs, toast and spreads – it was nice to wake up in the morning, grab some breakfast and head out to the pool area. The beach is accessed through a door past the pool, cross over the boardwalk and then you are on the beach – nice and easy! I would recommend this hotel if you want something right in the heart of South Beach.

If you are looking for a great value and great location for a short vacation in miami, this is it. It is nothing fancy, but the staff is very helpful and friendly. They have free continental breakfast and free internet/pc room to use. Very nice heated pool and back of hotel has direct access to beach. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This hotel is one of the badest places I intended to stay in the past. We were received pretty unfriendly and were directly urged to pay the valet parking of 30 $ for one night. We then went to the room and found it very very small and dirty. The bathroom was small and had mildew in the shower and between the panels. Additionally lots of dark hair were not cleaned out and the carpet seemed to have its own life. We asked for another room and were told there is no one. That was the moment we left the hotel and went to another hotel. On our request to get a partial refund, the hotel staff was very unfriendly and told us that this is not possible. The overall impression of the hotel is that it's very old and has never been refurbished. The location at the beach itself would be very nice.

Dear Weinhart,
Hello and thank you for taking the time to write regarding your room. Please accept my apology, this is not up to the standard of cleanliness that we maintain in our hotels. If we had another room available, we certainly would have offered you a change. I am very sorry you were disappointed and appreciate you telling us so we may address and fix the issue.

Thank you for the kind words regarding the location, we are very, very close to what is so great about Miami Beach.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best,

Hotel was great for the price we paid. Close to everything! One complaint: Happy hour was only 1 hour! Very clean. Free breakfast included with stay. I would stay here again. Good place for families on a budget. Pool very small but clean.

Room Tip: The rooms closest to the lobby are the cleanest!

My husband and I stayed for one night and wanted to be close to Lincoln Ave. Can't get much closer without being at the Ritz! The hotel is simple, clean and good value for money. The rooms are small, really small, but well equipped with satellite TV and a nice ipod radio and they also include bathrobes. The windows are small so the views are not great but I could see the ocean from my bed. We had the Ocean view room.

Breakfast was included and was much better than the chain restaurant breakfasts.

Parking leaves a little to be desired if you arrive in a busy time but the parking company they have hired and is used by most of the hotels around there did a very good job and were very polite and helpful.

The pool area is lovely and there is a deck for tanning. Access to the beach is out the locked back gate.

Front desk staff could be a bit friendlier. They never acknowledged us as we came or left and check in and checkout was uninspiring. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary that night and I had put that in the comments but they didn't even acknowledge it.

All in all, great location close to South Beach, Lincoln Ave and all the excitement of Miami Beach. The value for money is excellent and if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room, then this is perfect. I'm going to save up and try the Ritz next time, although spending over $300 a night on a room you won't be in is just ridiculous!

* The entire hotel smells like a gym locker.
* Front desk lady (Ana) blatantly lied to her manager right in front of us about incorrect fees on our bill that she volunteered to take care of.
* Manager (Jose) allowed fees we did not owe to remain on our card, admitted he was wrong, said clearly that he agreed with us, but said straight to our faces "but we are not going to fix this." Our jaws dropped.
* Rooms not only smell like urine but are doll house size compared to photos on their site.
* There was an overall "disconnect" with staff and guests. They act like they want you to know "We are only going to help you if It's in our minimum job description".

Great location. As with most hotels on the beach in South Beach the rooms are small and the building is old. But taking that into consideration we found this a nice place to stay. We had two rooms on the third floor and both were clean. Pool was great, beach was clean and the breakfast buffet was simple but substantial.

Room Tip: Not many rooms have a view of anything other than the neighboring building.
