I rely heavily on this forum, so I'll try and be as objective/reasonable as possible. Stayed 4 nights just prior to Thanksgiving. 5 year old property, modern, generally tastefully done, well kept with a couple of signs of wear. Numerous restaurants and stores within walking distance*. We had a 1 bedroom. Very large, well appointed. Bathrooms on par with deluxe hotels: Bidet, large shower, double bowl vanity, whirlpool tub. Full kitchen with utensils, living/dining room. Living room had tv/vcr(No DVD) and a Pull out couch. Decent sized balcony accessible from bedroom and living room. Basically a nice 1br condo. The rooms are the highlight of this property**. Fitness center: moderate size, but clean and with good equipment. Pool/Beach: Small pool, hot tubs, concession for beach chairs and umbrellas. Outdoor bar. Pool OK, but the adjacent bar was very blah. Which is how I would describe the restaurant and lobby bar. Not bad, just not very inviting. If you've come for the "resort" aspect, I would probably look elsewhere. It just seems to fall short in that regard. Mainly interested in a room? Stay by all means. Would I make a special effort to come here? No.* A1A is 6 lanes, busy and noisy. Walking along it isn't enjoyable and crossing it is a challenge.**There is a 28 story condo building being built right next door to the south. It is a 6 day a week operation. I would NOT stay here if I was on that side of the building. We were. Insist on North/East side or stay elsewhere.

Let's see, we checked into the hotel in the early afternoon, after a few meetings, and wanting to get some work done. The rooms are nice and spacious and the view is great. And that is where the pleasantries end.

To start off with, there is an $18/day charge for valet parking, no exceptions, and no where else to park near the hotel. Ok, might be able to deal with that, but when starting to work, noticed something very very disturbing. In the day of the free hotel internets, they charge $10/day for internet access. And, if you want more than 1 computer on, then add on another $10/day. So far, a $200/night room is up to $240.

For a business traveler, we would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Doubletree for 2 nights and were very happy with our stay, particularly the service. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We booked a studio at the AAA rate and were upgraded to a 1 bedroom ocean-view suite. The room was very clean and very large with a full size kitchen. The beach was nice and the pool was adequate, a bit small and was mostly shaded by 3 PM, but still nice. Our only complaint was the construction going on next door that started at 8 AM on Saturday morning and went on ALL day, though it didn't start again on Sunday thank goodness. It appears that the entire area is a construction zone however, so I am not sure we would have been able to escape it anywhere in N. Miami Beach. I would definitely recommend the Doubletree and would stay here again.

“2 Bedroom is Great”

Doubletree Ocean Point Resort & Spa

I loved our 2 bedroom unit. Our family of 5 which included 3 teenage boys had plenty of room. We stayed on the 20th floor in room 2001, oceanfront and overlooking the pool. The in room washer and dryer was very useful. I left a small load of clean laundry on the bed and we I got back to my room the maid had folded the clothes. The maid service was great. She loaded the dirty dishes into the dishwasher and hand washed the pots. Pots, dishes, silverwares, and other kitchen essentials are included in the room. The beach sand was clean but beach had a lot of dead sea weed along the coastline. The pool is small but there are two spas one with a waterfall. The $18 per day very busy valet parking is the only thing that kept me from giving this hotel an excellent. Don't forget to look up high on the building for the Doubletree logo or you could miss the entrance to the hotel.

We ended up at this hotel after a terrible stay at another hotel in Surfside. The Doubletree's rate was only a few dollars more, but what a difference. This hotel is a resort. Our kids had a great time with a very comfortable and safe pool and easy ocean access. They even had toys available for the kids to play with on the beach. Yes there are some additional costs for parking and beach chairs, but it was worth it. With full kitchens that were spotless, even a dishwasher, you don't have to worry about eating out. We will definitely stay here again, and may even consider buying a unit to have it at our ready!
