“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2012

We are Hilton Diamond so we got upgraded to a 1KBed Suite in 2606 and it was amazing. Beautiful views of ocean and city (it would probably be noisy on lower floors), full kitchen, washer/dryer, very comfortable king bed, big balcony with a table and two chairs, brand new tv's with pc/hdmi connections, free breakfast downstairs and roomservice thanks to our status.

I have not seen the standard rooms but the suite is great and the staff is very friendly. Most rooms would have a great view.

Pricey things: Parking is $27 a night and beach chairs $22 a day, no half day price.

It is a shame that we cannot rate this hotel as "excellent" as it certainly has the potential to be so. But they need to spend major bucks fixing up the suites. Our carpet was quite stained; the folding doors had either fallen off or were falling off their hinges; the facing is peeling off the kitchen cupboards; the wallpaper is dirty. Having said that we had a huge well-equipped suite with full kitchen, washer and dryer. Had a comfortable lounge chair as well as two regular chairs and a table on a large balcony with spectacular views of the ocean and the city. The breakfast buffet was well supplied and tasty. The pool is a good size with a walk-in entrance. There are lots of grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance, although you have to share the sidewalk with bicycle kamikazes! The A1A is very busy as well. Paper wristbands are required around the pool; we would have preferred a more long lasting rubber.

Room Tip: We were in 2705 - top floor, huge balcony with full sun all day and great views

Cinthia Stone, the wedding coordinator can be bitter. Do not get fooled by her fake friendly smile. We were promised something in our wedding banquet package, but on the day of the wedding it was not served. And they refused to give us a refund. They never returned our calls and e-mails since after the wedding. They just want your money.

We spent a weekend at this hotel and loved it. It is in between North Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale so you can fly into either airport. The hotel is right on the beach and most rooms have a beautiful view. We were in a 2 bedroom suite with a wrap around balcony. The suite was clean, huge and well maintained. Both bathrooms were quite large.
We had to pay extra for valet parking everyday but beats trying to find a place to park.
We ate breakfast at the restaurant every morning which was buffet style and quite sumptous.
The pool was being worked on so we could not enjoy it but with the beach we did not miss it at all. There are many restaurants at walking distance to enjoy various cuisines and also a couple of grocery stores if you want to eat in. The suite had a full kitchen which was quite big with a full stove, microwave and all appliances.

Enjoyed our stay and will go back again in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor room with a balcony, ocean facing.

We are Hilton Honors members and booked a 5 night stay with rewards points for a standard room. We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom king suite. The extra space was great, the pullout sofa my teenage son had to sleep on was not. He was a trooper and put up with it, as others mentioned we cushioned it with extra blankets. The space of the suite was really large but the room needed refurbishing. The carpets are worn, wall paper worn, trim badly dinged up and the kitchen was in rough shape. The extra large balcony was very nice with furniture and we enjoyed it a lot. Our view was ocean to the left, town to the right, very nice.

The beach at this hotel is very clean, soft sand, clear water, great for walking. We rented a cabana and chairs one day, umbrella and chairs the next. Not cheap but about what most hotels offer in florida. The beach attendant was very helpful and friendly. This beach (atleast in January) is shaded by the large hotels starting around 2-3pm so chair placement is important. The pool shades earlier. Might be nice on super hot days but not so much so when it is just low 70's. Nice pool bar offerings, had a good lunch on the beach one day.

Had good, helpful interactions with most of the staff in this hotel. Valets, front desk, waitresses and beach. Housekeeping was mostly good except one day when no clean towels were left. Found maid in hall but language barrier prevented an adequate conversation. Towels were delivered about 15 minutes after the exchange.

The location is nice, places to eat nearby and easy access to causeways.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the upper floor (24th) as our balcony was sunny most of the day and not shaded by tall bu...

We spent 5 nights in the Doubletree in 1 BR suite before cruise. The rooms were spacious, and loved the balcony. It was great to be able to launder clothes before the cruise, and there was a full kitchen. It even had a waste disposer -very impressed for the price. We took the bus to South Beach and Aventura mall, which was very convenient, as we didn't bother with a car.

They were very friendly there.

Room Tip: Ask for sunny balcony on 27th floor with washing machine.
