“Small Room But Fantastic Staff & Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

What friendly folks at this hotel! Everyone did there best to make you feel at home - so wonderfully friendly and helpful without being in your face. The hotel pool area is beautiful and the location on the beach is just perfect. The ONLY complaint I would voice is the size of the rooms - they are quite small and the bathrooms are tiny. In the scheme of things, a very minor complaint as everthing else was great!

We were 'closed out' of the National Hotel because of renovation problems, and stayed instead at the Raleigh Hotel just down the street. Perhaps because we had such a nice room (ocean view with balcony), we were very happy. Also, the room was a bigger size than many such rooms.

The staff were extremely nice and helpful. I also liked that they had keys instead of cards (which you can just leave at the front desk, and not worry about losing). Overall, the atmosphere was elegant (but comfy) and slightly old-fashioned. Personally, this was a plus for me, as there are so many 'trendy' hotels pumping out loud disco music and trying to be ultra hip. Also, the restaurant had excellent food, which is often not the case at hotels in general.

The pool (beautiful) was designed for Esther Williams and was quite deep overall (minimum 4 feet), which I loved, since I am a swimmer. It might be a problem, however, if you are short and a non-swimmer. I noticed some small children with 'water wings,' who seemed fine, but it is something to consider if you have little children and don't want to supervise.

My only complaint is that there was some filming (on two occasions) ---one in the pool, which blocked off our swimming for awhile (the film crew seemed utterly oblivious to time), and another time in the restaurant AT DINNER TIME. they were using bright lights which shone into everyones eyes, and, again, utterly oblivious to any sort of time table. It was very annoying, and I think it is important for guests to be warned if these guys are coming to film. However, the VERY nice hostess/manager (Ana Andrijasevic) did everything to make us comfortable, including moving us to a better table and 'comping' us for some drinks.

Overall, an excellent stay.

Room Tip: I would think that higher floors are preferable, and also ones away from Collins Avenue. But I have...

I booked this hotel for the location; on the beach, close to hot spots, close to Lincoln Road shops, but fell in love with the whole experience of staying there for three days. It begins from the minute you drive to the front door, which is set off the street in a well landscaped entrance that makes you feel like your far from other hotels. The lobby is vintage South Beach, comfortably chic, with pictures of who's who on the walls. It has an intimate martini lounge where, after a few cocktails, you swear you saw the ghosts of the original Rat Pack chatting at the bar. The historic pool is better than it appears on the web, with great landscaping to provide shade in key areas. But the best part of this property is the superb, well trained, staff. The Raleigh is the ideal size, not too large or small, with the perfect staff-to-guest ratio that sets it apart from the neighboring hotels. We noticed this when we were greeted by Gaby, the manager, who made sure our every need was promptly addressed. They make everyone feel special. We love food and were anxious to try the Michael Schwartz restaurant located in the hotel. The restaurant manager, Ana, was so helpful, accommodating our party of 8 even though most of our guests were hours late for the reservation. This was the best meal we had on the trip, great fresh food with a nice balance of flavors. Dine outside on the patio by the pool, you won't be disappointed. The room was larger than expected, the bed very comfortable, and view of the pool and beach was spectacular. This hotel has a boutique, european vibe; sophistication and old world charm. This is our new go-to-hotel every time we come to Miami.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor facing the pool/beach.

I loved every thing about the Raleigh Hotel. Not only was the hotel located in the perfect place but everyone from the valets to the managers went above and beyond to make sure my friends and I had the most fun we could have. The staff was polite and friendly and always had a smile! Julio helped us a lot with finding great places to eat and helping us get into some great clubs. I truly can't remember the last time I had so much fun. I can't wait to come back and see everyone and have another fabulous week in Miami!

I was impressed with the hotel from the second I pulled into the driveway. I loved the unique look and that it was not overwhelmingly large and easy to get lost. I LOVED LOVED LOVED that the pool was open 24/7 - that definitely enhanced our experience as we used the pool every night after a night out. For some reason the pool area was empty at night, so the huge, beautiful space felt like our own private spot. There were large, comfortable beds to lay on instead of chairs - amazing place to chat and stargaze.

Definitely talk to Julio G when planning your nights out. He was extremely helpful with suggestions of where to go and getting us in. Julio was genuinely invested in our Miami experience, and he was not the only one. We were a big group with lots of questions and needs that were all addressed by whoever was on duty. The kind and attentive staff made our stay extremely comfortable and gave a "homey" vibe to our vacation.

The hotel is also centrally located. We were in the middle of everything and if you have to take a cab, you do generally do not have to go very far.

If I go back to Miami, I will definitely be staying at the Raleigh!

Over labor day weekend, I stayed at the Raleigh Hotel with a few friends. The service was incredible, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Although, labor day weekend was a busy time at all the South Beach clubs, Julio G at the front desk helped us get in wherever we wanted to go. The rooms were clean and the hotel amenities were great. Whether you want to lounge by the pool or take a dip in the ocean, the Raleigh is a great place to do it. Furthermore, the location is convenient with great restaurants, clubs and shopping areas within walking distance.
