“An oasis of calm and class in South Beach madness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

The Raleigh is classic elegance and calm amid the madness and noise of South Beach. Brian the manager and his staff were incredible and attentive from the seocnd we entered the door for our one week (!!!) stay. We have nothing but the highest praise the staff and the hotel. This is art deco at its best. The interior is calming and classy; the pool area exquisite. We had a fabulous corner room on the 6th floor and were not disturbed once by anyone inside or outside the hotel. We did not eat at the hotel so cant comment on their food, thought believe it is meant to be great. This is a lovely place to spend your time in South Beach. Thanks Raleigh for a great experience!

Room Tip: it has to be ocean/pool view!

Comming from Europe(belgium) we stayed at the surfcomber and the raleigh so we can compare...the raleigh is a NIGHTMARE if you want to,sleep and NO it is not a problem from sounds from outside the hotel but inside..we had room 413 ,a front ocean and pool view...each sound from other rooms you can hear in your room, the elevator, the doors from other rooms,,it is really a nightmare if you want to sleep...we didn't sleep during 2 nights, people were screaming and jelling in the corridors and this is not what you expect in a class hotel, sorry for us it was a very bad experience. At the Surfcomber we slept very good...and that is at 50 meters from the Raleigh so there is no,excuse to have a bad sleep experience...now we understand why the raleigh is not in the top 10 on Tripadvisor...if they do something at the noise it can be a top 3 hotel but not now,,,the positive thing of course is the pool and around the pool ,this is really top, this can not be beaten by other hotels..this is simply the best pool...but again here a bad experience with the pool, service, not friendly at all,we had Hilary at sunday and I think she doesn't like to work on sundays, never a smile or please or thank you...the salads and hamburgers were very good and it is nice to eat around the pool. What we found very strange that they served hamburgers IN the pool!!!...inEurope it would be not possible for hygienic reasons...so as conclusion...book the sufcomber..no doubt..see my also my review on surfcomber......

We stayed at the Raleigh last spring, and we really loved it! The vibe of the hotel is very art deco, the rooms are nice, the staff was friendly. The food and drinks were very good as well, although pricey. The best part of our stay was the beautiful pool though! We really enjoyed lounging poolside each day. We would definitely come back to the Raleigh.

A beautiful hotel which has a retro feel, you get the sense that the walls have shared a lot of secrets!!

Stunning beach area with access to Miami beach via a private gate at the bottom of the pool area.

True Miami vibe!

Just don't sleep in room 311, 411, 511 etc... Right next to the escalator and very loud!

Room Tip: If it has 11 at the end ask to be moved!!

Common areas and grounds are really nice. Beautiful pool. Rooms need a renovation as you can clearly notice layers and layers of paint on the walls. Some of the staff is unattentive and borderline rude. For the price the room costs, one should not have to deal with this. I complained to the front desk about the rudeness of the valet and bellman..... They could care less. Thats Miami for you.

I really love the Raleigh as I have lots of memories there over 15 years of holidays in Miami.
My last visit in january kind of disappointed me as the rooms were really too noisy and needed a lifting when you pay 400$ you expect something close to luxury. Miami has too many hotels just to be average. I hope they will change the hotel soon otherwise I will go to some other places.
Food is good and the location is just perfect but Miami beach is not that big so you have a lot of other places to pick from before picking this one.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and we really loved it. The art deco style is well-kept and makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. It definitely has a shabby-chic appeal to it. And some parts (the hallways, the elevator) are a little more shabby, but that didn't bother us. We were looking for the boutique old miami feel rather than a giant cheesy resort.

The room was beautiful and a good size. Very clean. We opted for a pool view room because I read the reviews warning about elevator noise on some of the other floors. We didn't have a problem with noise but I did think the walls were thin. We heard our neighbors having a conversation very clearly one day. But we were lucky not to have any noise issues at night.

The best part of the hotel is the pool area which we found incomparable in miami (and we biked around the whole strip so we saw all the other places.) Its just stunning and serene with great service. Also very conveniently located, right on the beach and walking distance to everywhere you want to go.

The staff made us feel welcome and were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
