“Great to see it and live it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We stayed there over a weekend and we loved it. Worth the price. Fontainebleau is Miami Beach is its pros & cons.
We did everything to enjoy our stay and we believe it was worth it. We were three so we picked the double bed option (always bad when you realize there's only a king size bed or 1 bed & 1 sofa), we also picked the balcony/ocean front option.
We ended up at The Chateau in a very nice bedroom overlooking the ocean.
Bedroom was stunning, people were super nice (I'm talking about valet, front desk...etc...) and amenities are amazing. Lobby at Chateau is just incredible and is worth the trip just to see.
We had breakfast and the american buffet is really nice and worth every penny. Staff was not super nice there but it's not like you need them a lot when you're having a buffet.
Ok, it's a little bit expensive but we loved it, would recommend it and would definitely go again. Fontainebleau is Miami Beach!

Room Tip: Add a little extra to face the ocean

Thank you for your gracious compliments and continuous support of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. It is pleasant to hear your expectations were fulfilled and your trip was most enjoyable. We apologize for the average service quality you received during your American buffet breakfast but it will be shared with our team. We look forward to creating many more memories with your family very soon!

Swimming pools and grounds are awesome, loved the fact that the hotel has it's private beach access although the beach itself is not private. But you can rent your own chairs and umbrellas from the hotel for crazy amounts of money. Hotel itself is very chic and modern. Restaurants and bars have good selections, but overpriced. Rooms are ok, not very spacious, bathrooms smelled musty and definately not worth $500 a night. I stayed at a Best Western Premier close to the airport that was 100% times nicer. Overall I like the hotel, but would not pay again to stay there. Too expensive for what you get.

They offered food and beer at the beach like other resort but it is quite expensive. Beach staffs are so helpful and do good service. Let remember check the bill before order foods. Overall, it is good beach for enjoying.

The nicest/kindest bellman/person we have ever met in our several years of traveling. Kendall brought our bags to our room last year and by chance again this past week/ . Always has a fantastic smile and outlook of life/ It was our greatest pleasure to meet up with in again this year.

It made the visit soooo much more brighter seeing Kendall again.

We were there during the Easter/Passover week.
Upon arrival we were surprised to see such a long line at the front desk.
There were people checking in, butting in, checking out, getting room keys, etc.
Check in took @ 40 minutes.
It's a good system, because you are so tired from the check in that you don't care what kind of room you have.
The restaurant Vida had good food and service.
Cold buffet is $22., Hot buffet is $28. An abundance of good food.
The pool had 2 restaurants.
Both were good food, fair prices, good service.
Chicken fingers, grilled cheese, quesadillas, paninis, etc.
There are also children's meals
The pool boys were great. I would like to mention John Paul, Bryan, Pablo, Anthony
They set up the chairs and umbrellas and are very helpful.
The resort is clean and the service was good.
Check out of this hotel is not express.
You have to go to the front desk.
We checked out with Ezra who apologized that we had to wait in line for over 30 minutes to check out.
I don't remember Ezra apologizing for the resort credit of $150 that was charged to the room instead of being credited to the room.
We asked him to get the manager. He said Anna H was in the back.
We could not figure out why she stayed in the back and did not come out to deal with the long line and speak to us.
We finally left without speaking to her as we had a plane to catch and the check out delayed us by close to an hour.
It is a shame that the trip ended on this note, as the staff we met, other than the front desk does what they can to make your stay enjoyable

Room Tip: The rooms in the Chateau are close to the main pool and the restaurants. Try to get a room with a...

There are many things to consider before staying in this hotel.
First, rooms are small, considering the price. I've stayed a couple of times, if you have view of the ocean is better. Also if you have a higher room is better as the lobby and club get really noisy.
My room was not clean. The A/C had dust that was spread all over the room. Remote control was old and hard to use to change channels.
Food is good in the high end restaurants, Scarpetta and Hakkasan. But very average for breakfast and expensive.
Service is rude, they think the hotel is the trendy club and everyone behaves this way. Te line to complain, called "call Morris", didn't resolve a thing.
My recommendation is to use the same money and book a better hotel, there are plenty!

4 nights at the fontainbleau whilst my husband was at a conference and have to say that despite all the glitz and glamour it we were able to get a very nice and homely feel too. We were accomodated in a room with a pleasant living area, desk area for work as well as a fridge, hot plate and microwave. This rounded our experience and made it all the better!

Room Tip: It is expensive+++
