“Great Stay, Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

I stayed here a few years ago and really enjoyed my trip! lovely clean bright rooms close to the beach and a free breakfast. Very nice and helpful staff. Our beds were very comfortable, I did not care for Miami much but this hotel was a great beach side retreat!

This hotel is privately owned. You do not have to take on a huge corporate infrastructure to deal with your booking. You deal directly with a person at the hotel. I requested early check in. My room was ready on arrival.

Rooms are immaculate.
Bright, tastefully decorated in soothing colours, with shuttered windows.
The air conditioning is easy to operate and effective, as is the coffee maker, the television. The free internet service was glitch free. ( You do have to log in each time you go online - but hey !)

The bedding was high quality, (with the exception of the bottom sheet which was synthetic) and the mattress was exceptionally good and exceptionally comfortable.

The room was bright and airey, spacious and comfortable with adequate closet space and a safe.

The bathroom was delightful. Clean. Freshly fitted out with a good shower and the bonus of a hand shower also. Hot water supply was never an issue, and toiletries, towells etc were refreshed each day, and all of good quality.

Staff were friendly. This is a fairly small hotel, so service was fast and personal.
The pool area was beautiful and a pleasant haven.
The hotel is about 150 yards walk from the beach.

The lobby is interesting with an intimate bar and a breakfast room. The breakfast was perhaps the only downside at $9.95 it wasn't great value for money. If it's included in the rate, it's a good deal, if not - go next door.

A cafe and mini market is next door to the hotel, and this also has an ATM machine for convenience.

The hotel is on 39th street, so little more than a 5 minute drive from the centre of the South Beach action and roadside cafes and bars.
Traffic was never an issue.
Drop off and collection at the hotel is easy with a loading bay right out front, and a taxi rank opposite the hotel had a ready supply of cabs 24/7.

The hotel has parking available. It is pricey at $20 per day, but less pricey than most other hotels in the same area. On check in, the staff at the hotel were decent enough to explain that street parking was available from 8am until 6pm daily for $1 an hour, and was free from 6pm until 8am. The very fact that they offered me a cheaper alternative made me choose to use their service for some of my stay. It is rare to experience such a level of fair play from front-desk staff, and it is certainly something in the hotel's favour.

Street parking did not prove to be difficult. Whenever a space was not available, a beachside lot was 4 short blocks walk from the hotel with adequate space.

All in all, the only minor disappointments were a synthetic bottom sheet and a less than perfect breakfast.

I travel a lot and would consider this hotel to be one of the most pleasant hotels I have ever stayed in.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel after reading about it on Trip Advisor . Our room was on the top floor, at the front of the building. It was a good size, clean and well furnished. The staff were really helpful and arranged for the room to be ready at 12.00, when we arrived early at 10.00am. We also had a 1 hour late-check-out, but would have appreciated the availability of a courtesy shower, as our flight wasn't until late evening . The food in the bistro restaurant was good at lunchtime, however the breakfast was poor and should be avoided, with hard croissants and inedible scrambled eggs . Instead we caught the bus to Ocean Drive, where we had a full fresh cooked breakfast for $10. The beach is a short walk away and the hotel has some beach chairs (free) and umbrellas ($10). The hotel also provides beach towels. I would recommend this hotel due to the great location on the junction of Collins Avenue and 39th Street, its staff, easy beach access and reasonable pricing. Just don't bother with the breakfast.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 303. It was on the top floor (3rd) at the front of the building and it was fine.

Great location with wonderful people, very reasonably priced. Room was smallest I've experienced outside of NYC, but it was clean and functional and I spent the vast majority of my time in the room asleep.

This place is a nice little gem in the Miami Beach area. Although not very close to the action, this hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet wasn't the best but served its purpose. This hotel looks to have just been remodeled and had the smell of new paint in the air. Rooms are small as is the bathroom but had new fixtures and the hardwood flooring was a nice touch. Front desk staff couldn't have been more friendly to us. Would I come back to this place? Yes.

First we arrived and our reservation for 2 rooms with double beds was not available. We made reservation several months ago and even had to prepay for them. We check in and the front desk was helpful and got us 4 rooms with single beds. There were two children in the group so we divided and conquered. Just not something you want to deal with at 2AM After traveling all day.

Rooms are clean, quiet, and recently remodeled. The bed was soft and comfortable. So finally got a good nights rest once checked in. Bathroom door wouldn't stay shut unless it was locked so that was frustrating too.

Decor in lobby is very nice and the pool looks nice as well. Hotel is wanting to be trendy but they need to make sure not to cut any corners along the way. The elevator is old and smelled like a fresh coat of paint was just slopped on the walls. First impressions.

All in all, a great place to stay! Close to the beach front! Staff was very accomidating and allowed us to check out late due to late arrival and such.

The Cira 39 is an old school Miami Beach hotel that has been updated while still keeping it's charm. It is across the street from the beach, but not a problem. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was nice to enjoy a local handrolled cigar on the front porch in the evening, just people watching.
