“Can't Beat the Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed here the night before our family cruise. The location is awesome, right across the street from South Beach and close to many shops and restaurants. We arrived about 5 P.M. and all 5 couples were in their room within minutes. The entrance is very strange, having to walk through the restaurant to get to the small reception desk. The staff was very friendly and helpful, a surprise since I had read several reviews where this was not the case.

Our room was clean, though quite small with two beds that appeared to be full-size. They were definitely not queens. For a quick one night stay this hotel was fine, Not sure I would want to stay much longer because of the small room and bathroom. Many people have mentioned the slow, cramped elevator. Our son and his wife took the elevator while my wife and I took the stairs, and we beat them to the second floor.

Place is loud, surrounded by bad places to eat, the elevator looks to be from the 60s. The room is fine but our floor had not been swept. Bathroom is tiny. Rooms were right on Ocean which means you can hear people screaming and partying all night. If you are over 24, pass.

Room Tip: If you must stay, get a high floor so you can't hear all the noise, which lasts to about 3am

i stayed at the Colony Hotel a few years ago and since then they have renovated it and spruced the hotel up. Nice green colors in the room. Yes the rooms are small but you don't go to South Beach Miami to stay in your room. It is located in the heart of the Art Deco district on Ocean Drive. The hotel offers a restaurant which was excellent but there are a multitude of restaurants lined up on Ocean Drive. Majority are outside dining. The valet service is excellent and the check in process was a breeze. There may be reviews complaining about the room sizes, but really, once you get to South Beach you will understand what I meant about not staying in your room!

The place is difficult to approach, as it is on Ocean in the heart of cruisers paradise. You must Valet at $25 per day. Rooms are small, but clean. No coffee maker, but there's a fridge. Although it is right in the heart of the action, the rooms are surprisingly quiet, even on the first floor. The restaurant is average.

Stayed in this hotel for two nights after doing a cruise. The hotel is on the beach front which is a brilliant location and very busy. We arrive d at about 12 but could not check in till 4pm which after a long travel was a long time to wait to get in your room. Also early check out at 11am again very early if you are still in Miami for the day. The hotel could do with updating and also offer a area for people to have a shower and change if need be if they are in Miami for the day after the early checkout. Staff very pleasant and the restaurant outside is convenient as the hotel does not offer any breakfast. Not sure I would stay again but location is excellent for beach and shopping.

Room Tip: Back if the hotel as front quite noisy as very busy strip

Great Location !
Rooms clean and OK !
Restaurant - Food is good - a Little expensive, but that is Miami Beach ;-)

Holiday in an American Icon ;-)
Due to the Location it is a Little noisey - but not this much :-)

It would be Great, if the staff at reception could be a little More friendly !

They claim their beds are Queen size that is a lie!! They are full size. The bathrooms are so small and there is no place to put your personal belongings. You have to place everything on the floor. No screens on the bathroom Windows, can't leave it open because all kinds of things fly in. The food is ridiculously expensive and the portions are hysterically small. The piña colada definitely not worth $45, you read it correctly, $45.00 for ONE piña colada. The wall and floors PAPER THIN!!! You can hear everything!, and YES, they can hear YOU!!!!! Hallways & your neighbors opening and closing of room doors ,Noisy as hell not even ear plugs help. Rooms with a view, two, the rest look out to someone else's window.

Room Tip: Not at the colony!!!
