“The Best of South Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

The Colony hotel is such a great place to stay for a visit to South Beach. Location is second to none and the staff and rooms are excellent. The restaurant is such a fun place to eat with great prices and a staff that loves their customers! We have stayed at several other hotels in the area, but The Colony is our absolute favorite. The service is so outstanding at the restaurant and by the hotel staff as well. A++

Good: Great location for the night life and people watching. Can walk to all the hot spots and restaurants! Rooms are clean and comfortable. Decent rates.

Rooms don't have good views but can't complain for the price. The area is busy and can be loud but couldn't hear the noise with the AC on.

If you want to party in South beach this is a good spot to stay. Take a taxi as parking in South beach is always problematic.

I don't normally write on trip advisor but feel I need to as previous reviews had made me very wary of this hotel. ...... It was great. Staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast lovely and good value. The room was large and very comfy bed. Good value. Definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to be in the middle of the buzz on South Beach.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back quieter but noise not a problem once the door closed

Very stylish hotel in the heart of the Art Deco district on ocean drive! Stylish rooms for reasonable price considering you are in Miami South Beach area! Loved everything, especially the crazy italian staff! Defo will stay here again on my next visit! Top notch!

Booked this room based on location and price. It's an older hotel but offer modern styles and comfort. We were pleased with the room, especially the huge walk in shower. The website I booked the hotel at stated it offered a free breakfast, however it doesn't. That was the only disappointing part. It has no frills like a gym or a pool .

I'd stay here again because of the price and location, elsewhere if you want more amentities.

NASTY, DIRTY AND OLD HOTEL. The bathroom was very small and dirty you don't even get hand towels. The room was very hot and the closet door was broken. The hotel offers internet service, what a joke we were never able to connect. THE BED, OMG was horrible, it would cave to the middle and it made a lot of noise like it was 100 years old. We complained about the bed and asked to move the staff of course was not friendly and didn't care to accommodate us. Most of the staff does not speak english and are not helpful. There is no such thing as a sushi bar, and the outdoor patio is open to the public for food service. The prices are outrageous the drinks were $25 a piece no joke, read the bottom fine print before you order. PAY THE MONEY AND STAY AWAY from the ART DECO district nothing nice or cool about it. I will never visit MIAMI again!!!

Nice old building, well presented and clean. Good value for money. Noisy old air conditioning made for a poor night's sleep.

Because the rooms are fairly small, the air conditioning unit was only a foot or so away from the bed which caused a real disturbance during the night. The noise of the rattly old unit was intrusive and the proximity to the bed and rudimentary controls meant there was a cold air drought. Switching the AC off solved the problem for an hour or so, but the room quickly heated up and it became stuffy. The especially humid Miami weather and the small rooms made for a poor nights sleep.
