My friends and I went to Miami for a Caribbean carnival and did a lot of research on South Beach since most of the hotels are not usually what is on the internet. The Clevelander was great for our needs-- great great great location-- right on beach and close to all of the main restaurants. Food was great at Clevelander and staff was very helpful and friendly. Room had 2 double beds and the 3 of us were comfortable in it.
The only thing I would say is that they need to renovate the bathrooms. Other than that the hotel was clean, and good for the price. We had pool view so that was great, and music didn't bother us because we partied til 5am every night anyway!

My husband & I stayed at the Clevelander Hotel in South Beach because of its location. It is in the perfect spot, right on the beach, next to many restaurants & bars. We chose the Clevelander because it has a restaurant, many bars, a pool & a great happy hour. The happy hour was great. Happy hours are Mon-Thurs 3-6pm & Fri 3-7pm. Frozen drinks were half price (full price is $10) & you got a hurricane cup to keep. During happy hour was also $5 munchies (wings, beefy nachos, double dogs, peel & eat shrimp, onion rings, steamed clams, chili cheese fries and jalapeno poppers). At night, the bar was hopping; there was a dj and the place got really packed. As far as the rooms, they all have two double beds & are kind of small, very plain. The only complaint that I have is that the walls are paper thin & you can hear everybody on your floor. And we were on the quiet side of the hotel to avoid the late night noise outside. We had groups of guys on both sides of our room & they made so much noise. This is definitely a party hotel! We had a good time & the staff was really nice & helpful.

We spent a few nights in SOBE, Miami, and this place was absolutely amazing! Spent 2 nights at the Clevelander, amazing music, people, staff was very nice..... steps to all hotels at the Art Deco District and a great place to dance or just sit and have drinks by the pool with the great music!!!!! Definitly check this place out if you're staying on Ocean Drive!!!!!!

Just got back - we were there for 8 days (April 5-13). Great Party pool area with DJs and live bands every day.
Stay on the "quiet side" - we couldn't hear a thing.
The rooms are very basic and on the small side - but if you are planning on staying in your hotel room for anything but sleep, you shouldn't be going to South Beach. Why waste $$ on a hotel.
We got a great rate because we booked in advance.
It is right across from the beach, walking distance to all of the great resturaunts and clubs, shopping and a $5 cab ride to Lincoln Road (you have to eat at Nexxt Cafe on Lincoln Rd).
You might as well stay at the Clevelander, because you will end up there at least once every day - the pool bar area is always hopping! We started there for drinks and ended the night there for drinks every day - then you just stumble up to you room!
