We were so impressed with the Shelborne-I hardly know where to start. The impeccably polished hotel space that was both beautiful and functional? Or the staff that made you feel like your wish was their command? We loved the Shelborne. From Dillon at the front desk who assured us it was no trouble at all to leave our bags (as we had a late flight) to Johnathan at the towel and chair stand (who always had a sunny smile for us) you can tell that the staff at the Shelborne are first class.
Yes, a hotel needs to have a nice pool and a good location and be clean, etc…and the Shelborne exceed s in all those areas. But what I want in a hotel goes beyond that. I want to feel like the hotel staff is glad I came. I want to feel welcomed-not like I am an inconvenience. At the Shelborne I felt like they truly wanted me there and was glad I flew all the way from MN to Florida to be there. I asked one of the pool attendants (Alex) how was it that every single person I encountered at the Shelborne was incredibly kind and welcoming. He put it very simply. He said, “The GM of this hotel makes sure we all feel like a team. That every one of us, from the cleaning service to the pool concierge to the front desk, is important and we all work together to make sure that we provide 100% satisfaction for our guests.” Wow.
I would like to thank Alex and his staff at the pool for making my pool time amazing-they are so nice and incredibly helpful. (And I spent a LOT of time at the pool) Also Nicollette and Dillon for being so warm and welcoming at the front desk-you were great. Lastly, Jonathan and Rafal out by the beach-thanks for making our beach days awesome-you guys are great.
