“Over-rated, nothing special”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2011

We went out of our way to buy ice cream at Frieze instead of just getting some at the shop in our hotel. It was a disappointment. Nothing special. Overpriced and nothing unusual about any of the flavors. If you're in the neighborhood and you want ice cream, then it's OK.

“Wish We Had One of These at Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2010

Somewhere during my pre-trip on-line research, I read the suggestion to walk the short block south of Lincoln Road Mall to this local treasure, instead of the more expensive chain shops. Good call! My double scoop of coconut sorbet in a sugar cone was pure pleasure, and my husband loved his waffle cone of ginger pear sorbet with a scoop of peanut butter sorbet on top. Less than $10 for an enjoyable interval between the beach and swimming at our hotel! During our walk, we were able to survey our options for dinner, too.

“A local ice cream shop with great variety and quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2009

I just reviewed Ghirardelli's, which is the best for chocolate ice cream and has seating, but for variety and top quality ice cream and sorbets, you cannot beat the Frieze. It has character, but I downgraded the atmosphere because it has such limited seating. But who needs seating when you can wander from the shop out onto Lincoln Road and enjoy the passing scene with a big cone of the best ice cream in Miami. Be sure to taste different samples before you decide. Their selection is something special.
