“Great sleep/shower/change hotel in SOBE!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Let's get one thing straight, this is NOT a five star resort nor is it the place to go for looking for luxury amenities and service. It is however, the place to go in South Beach for an affordable stay if you don't mind missing a few things such as a bellman, elevator, concierge, spa, restaurant, a pool and free parking. Rooms are spacious and very well kept and clean. Beds are comfortable and the hardwood floors are a nice touch to the rooms. Bathrooms are a bit small but clean nonetheless. Hotel could use some minor repairs and some painting but still a very charming place with a banging courtyard. Also, Valentina at the front desk is a delight!

Located on Washington Ave, this hotel is literally blocks away from everything there is to do in South Beach; night clubs, restaurants, the beach, Collins Ave and Ocean Dr, shopping, you name it, it’s all nearby! The only thing that can get annoying is the parking situation. Lot behind hotel offers a "discount" rate of $30 a night to park. You are better off parking on the street and paying the meter which is free from 3am to 9am. Considering most of the hotels in SOBE are garbage and WAY overpriced, Harrison is a pleasant surprise that doesn't hurt your wallet.
I would definitely recommend to others and I will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Big Pink a few blocks away is great for breakfast! Kinda expensive but delicious food! Steak & E...

Please avoid this hotel at any cost!

The management at this hotel is soooooooooooooo rude!

They all sit in front of the office desk all day long. The price of this hotel was good, but the room vas dirty, especially the bathroom. There was no pillow top bed and down comforter, just a very thin sheet... They have beach towels, but they don't tell you about it, not in the hotel or the web site.

The wireless internet only work near the front desk, it doesn't work in any room...

The Hotel is very far from Lincoln Road Mall, it's a 30 minutes walk to go!!!

The only good this was the girl at the office desk , she was very nice and helpful.

We stayed at the Harrison Hotel for 4 nights this past week. The location of the hotel is ideal for walking to the beach enjoying some time by the ocean. We appreciated that the hotel was very close to Ocean Dr. while being just far enough to feel tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the weekend SOBE crowd.

Our hotel room was very minimally, but stylishly furnished with crisp, clean lines and an art deco motif. Since art deco is a prominent art form in SOBE, this was a perfect touch. All the cool white sheets and This made us feel refreshing when coming in out of the sun. If you're looking for a hotel chain, with its expected room structures and mundane wallpaper this is not the hotel for you.

The service desk attendants were extremely helpful and pleasant. My wife asked so many questions that I thought we would eventually catch some attitude from them; I was pleasantly surprised that they went out of their way to help us have the best time we could in South Beach.

The room for improvement was in in the details: Our room wasn't timely serviced, so we started requesting service in person, rather than leaving "service room please" sign on the door.

Overall, a great location, good hotel.

I have been using trip advisor for years. This is the first time I have ever posted anything. I feel like I owe it to others to say "run" and do not stay at this hotel, which is really a motel. This motel advertises that you get a pillow top bed and down comforter. So NOT true. There is not even a comforter but a thin sheet and a bedspread that is really a sheet. It is stark, bare, dark, no carpet so you hear everything all night. Bathroom is beyond small and any pictures you see are NOT what this motel looks like. There is no deal in staying at the Harrison Motel.Parking is $30 a day. Had tough time getting into Wifi. No elevator and small, small narrow staircase with steps that are so short your foot hangs off the end so carrying luggage is really dangerous. I called front desk to complain about the room and was told you get what you pay for. EXACTLY....It's cheap cause it is cheap...!!!! Walked to the side of motel one evening on the way to the beach and a man was peeing on the motel wall. Not a nice neighborhood. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here.

Room Tip: No room is a good room

Stayed in June for 4 nights with my wife. Booked via hotwire. Hotel is fairly clean. Rooms a bit cramped but functional. Small, but clean bathroom. A/C working fine. Front desk staff is very friendly (when present). Hard to reach them via phone or email (found later michael@harr...).
Parking is bad at a daily rate of $30 or $22 in a public garage 5 min walk away. Parking in front of hotel is allowed from 6pm until 7am and during weekends. Got up before 7am, drove the car around the corner to parking lot for $10 until 11pm.
24/7 Walgreens in walking distance (stop selling beer etc. after midnight).
Expensive Ocean Dr in walking distance. Weather wasn't on our side ... raining most of the time.
Had some very loud guests one night banging at the door for quite a while.
Would not stay South Beach or Miami Beach again.

I booked through bookit.com, 6 nights flight + hotel $700. Seemed like quite the steal. When I came here the man at the front desk was extremely pleasant. Normally there is a $50 hold + $20 early check-in fee. I was told that it was slow and that I could go into my room without either of those hassles. Free Wifi, worked for me. I was on the second floor, carrying my luggage up the stairs was a hassle but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. The room was small, I was on the second floor. The bathroom was also small, it was closed off by half of a glass so there would be water on the floor when I showered. Nothing a towel couldn't fix. I'm a towel addict and they had no issue bringing me up as many towels as I needed. They also allow you to use beach towels as long as you sign for them and they don't charge you bogus resort fees that you'll see a lot of in South Beach. The complimentary breakfast consisted of a call, every morning at around 9AM... 2 muffins, a banana and 1 orange juice, for 2 people. The complimentary welcome drinks were located at the very over-priced restaurant around the corner, for DINE-IN ONLY. Thanks, but no thanks. I prefer the cheap alcohol at the Walgreens liquor store a block away. All in all, I had amazing sleep here, felt like we had the entire hotel to ourselves. You could barely hear a pin drop. Late check-out was at 3:00PM for a $50 fee. All in all, very good stay. Close to everything that you need and want to have a good time in South Beach. Some things you'll love nearby that they may or may not tell you about: a bus from the airport that takes you 1 block from the hotel for $2.35 called the airport flyer. Big Pink, cheap..good diner food, Walgreens + their lovely cheap liquor store & CVS.
