“Great Hotel, Charming & Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

A wonderful boutique style hotel which is perfect to relax which is very quiet from the noise of the streets and beach, although it is all in walking distance. Service was superb!! I liked the person in room check-in and the room was very spacious.

Thank you for recently being our guest and for the review!

I'm glad you were able to enjoy your trans Florida getaway. We get many guests from SW Florida. We find that our "Naples in South Beach" style is welcome and as you referenced, delightfully unexpected. We have an unparalleled team that truly delights in exceeding our guest's expectations.

We look forward to welcoming you home again soon.

Tropical regards,

I never knew a property like this existed in South Beach. What a beautiful hotel with all its charm. The rooms were bright & cheerful, the pool relaxing and sitting outdoors at breakfast among the lush trees and plants, made this such a peaceful get-a-way. Then you can walk out the front door and be in what South Beach is know for: shops, restaurants, miles of white beaches and walks. It doesn't get any better than this! All the staff were so helpful and pleasant. Whatever you need, they were so accommodating. I look forward to our next trip to go back to enjoy this experience all over again. Thank you!

Room Tip: I really feel that all the rooms would be great. The main difference is the size because some have...

This hotel is a little gem. Helpful and friendly staff, good food, a calm oasis in the middle of a crazy Miami. My wife and I stayed for three nights on two occasions this October whilst in and out of the USA.
Upgrade to a villa with it's own garden and hot tub and you will feel a million dollars without it costing quite that much, obviously - Britan said "it's so worth it" and she was right.
If you don't like whats on the menu (what's not to like?) just ask John and he will find you something else. During the day you could wander down to Nikki Beach for sand, sea and sun or, just stay at the hotel's pool and relax with shaded loungers or in a cabana, with waitress service, wonderful.
Thank you for being perfect for us.

Room Tip: The smallest rooms without balcony are a little bit insulated, so upgrade and make the most of the s...

After almost 3 weeks hopping through the US we decided to spend a weekend in South Beach and based on the positive reviews selected The Anglers. The hotel was sublime and perfect for a chill out if you enjoy smaller boutique style hotels.

Our room was a tower duplex which had a spacious living area down stairs and loft style bedroom upstairs with an amazingly comfortable bed. Our room had a private terrace with a spa which was an added bonus as we didn't book this room.

The public areas of the hotel are loaded with charm and you feel like you have stepped back into an era when everything was a little more gentle, a great touch are the personalised calling cards with your name and address when in Miami.

The hotel is not on the beach strip which for us was perfect as the beach is very busy and noisy with clubs and people cruising up and down the strip. It is only two blocks back and a 5 min walk away and is in the heart of the art deco area.

Service from all staff we encountered was great as well.

Room Tip: Splurge and get a tower duplex with a spa

Anglers is on the cusp of being a great hotel, but there were too many quirks to give it 5 stars. The staff was very friendly and check-in was easy, but we were given very little information about our stay. For instance, our first day there when we got back from the beach they were just cleaning up from a manager's reception with free sangria and other things. If we had known we would have returned a little earlier. Other things we found out by asking, but it would be nicer to have everything up front. We stayed in a duplex which is a nice concept though I wasn't personally enamored with the circular stairway up and down. Plus we had no outside space at all, whereas most rooms seemed to have at least a balcony to sit on. There is very little space for clothes, just one closet had a few shelves. One annoying feature that could be so easily fixed is no shelf for soap and shampoo in the shower! Everything had to just sit on the shower floor.

But the location is fantastic, the bar made great drinks and overall we had a very nice stay. The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise at night. At turndown service personalized cards were left on the bed which was a nice touch. I would stay again, but I would be much more selective in room choice.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a balcony or patio.

Impressed by the level an quality of service in this great hotel!!! Personal in room check in, personal phone number for direct calls. Room was very spacious, very well stocked mini bar. Room dinning from the restaurant was flawless. Area next to the beach and good restaurants and bars. Will definitely be back next time.

Fabulous hotel for a short trip to South Beach. I stayed with a friend in early October.

Location: A block away from the beach and the bustling Ocean Drive, plus close to the main shopping areas i.e. everything in walking distance (even in 30+oC heat) but an oasis of calm away from the bars of Ocean Drive.

Room: Lovely suite (I think a standard double room?) with lounge/desk area, fully stocked bar, large double bed, good bathroom/dressing area, and enormous TV (although dubious cable reception). Good wifi coverage and nice cold (albeit a bit noisy) air conditioning. Short walk to outdoor pool (relatively small, but enough loungers and no kids running around when we stayed).

Staff: Incredibly friendly, helpful and informative at all times; a real highlight of our stay. Showed genuine interest in us.

Food/drink: Delicicious mojitos and Cuban canapes during (free) cocktail hour. Only disappointment was breakfast - waited almost an hour (and in a rush to check out!) for a (cold) smoked salmon bagel. Restaurant not full, so no idea why service was so slow. However, we were so impressed by the rest of the experience that we'd wholeheartedly recommend the Anglers, and would definitely stay again, just have breakfast at one of the many diners nearby.

Room Tip: Some ground floor rooms have outdoor hot tubs, but these are overlooked by passers by. Our room on t...
